It seem the majority of tilt-shift stuff out there is either 1) correction of the converging verticals in building (shifting in y) or 2) miniature faking (tilting in θ). Has anyone come across particularly creative uses for these lenses outside of these typical parameters? Especially appreciated would be successful examples use of diagonal tilt and/or shift

clarification: miniature faking only works at longer focal lengths e.g. 90mm

Ive used mine for some of the more gimmicky ways you can use one i quite like how they turned out, but understandably alot of people disagree.
>>

are you game to post some?
>>
I used to use the horizontal shift on my 4x5 heavily, to make it look like I was centered on a building when I was actually shooting around an obstacle. Sadly I lost most of my work with that camera in an apartment break-in years ago. (I had them all stored in a box that I guess looked like it contained expensive stuff, and it got grabbed along with a lot of my other gear.)

Why would you use tilt shift lens, when you can edit it in post?
>>
>>2763263
There are things you can't correct in post (like shooting around obstacles like I mentioned earlier), and it also makes it a lot easier to frame shots when you can do it with the lens. It's harder to line stuff up so you have room to skew it in post when you can't actually see what you need.

Also, TS are critical for product or food photography. You can shoot at something on a table and skew the plane of focus so that everything's sharp, but keep an optimum aperture and stuff. No way to fix that in post.
