So got to choose between the ae1 program or an A1 canon within 30 bucks of each other. Looked into it and no one seems to fucking know, im getting into photography and was leaning towards the AE1 because it seems like it requires more interaction and technical practice.

film SLR bodies are extremely similar. They're pretty much a box to hold the film with a shutter in it. Just pick one and start taking photos like yesterday

Recently bought an ae-1 from goodwill for 10 bucks
I'd say go for it. It functions incredibly well and really the only thing that's a pain is adjusting the iso but it's still easy. Also FD lenses are amazing, I've got that canon 50 1.8 but I think I might pick up one of the 24mm canon lenses if I can find one cheap

WHen you say within $30 of one another, do you mean one's 30 and one's 60, or are you going to pay a retard amount for one on eboi?
The bones of the cameras are the same, but the A1 has more slow shutterspeeds, a better viewfinder and aperture priority. It's the one to get.
Very similar situation to choosing between a 60D and a 650D digital.

I shoot an A-1, I'd recommend getting one.
One feature that no one really talks about on the a-1 is that it has a built in multiple exposure lever.
I don't believe the ae-1 or the ae-1p have it.
Either way, whoever is selling you those cameras for those prices is asking too much.
