Wanted to ask your opinion about which lense I should buy. I must say that I'm amateur and if you could explain your choice, that would be greate.

If you're going to buy a 24-105 f/4, buy the Sigma.
The Canon only makes economic sense as a kit lens.

Personally I would get a 24-70 and just crop if I needed 105.
70mm at f/2.8 with a 1.5x crop becomes 105mm at f/4.2

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Usually people who know jack shit about cameras spell it like that

>24-70 for video and stills
IS is for no-budget shitty looking handheld videos that no one will ever see. Get a rig and some solid sticks, you'll never need IS.
>>
Well what do you need it for?
>>
>>2741223
Is this lense for Cannon camera?
>>
>>2740814
I think you shouldn't use anything. Take the picture raw. Literally.
>>
>>2741337
Yes
>>
>>2741273
It's true, I know jack shit about them
Op btw here
>>
>>2741306
Just additional lense to learn with, try aswell for taking videos with slider
>>
>>2740906
whats better
>>
>>2741474
Get a fast prime. 35mm f2 will do you nicely, or get the 50mm f1.4 if you have fool frame. Learning with zooms makes you lazy. Plus if you have a crop body an "all purpose" lens that only goes as wide as 40mm is pretty dumb
>>
>>2741497
May I know what do you mostly use everyday, lens and dslr?
>>
>>2741521
I use micro four thirds but I only ever carry around a 35mm equivalent on the front of my camera and stick a 90mm equivalent in my pocket. I don't really like 50mm as a focal length, I prefer it a bit wider, but I still think it's the best way to get started.

If I know I'm going to need them (shooting wildlife etc) I bring a 135mm f2.8 and a macro. I have other lenses too that I very rarely use.
>>
>>2742043
Thanks
>>
>>2740814
I own both, the pictures look about the same
I'd take the 24-70 for the wider aperture but if you don't consider that very valuable def go for the 24-105
if you want a new lens to try something different and you don't have a prime def get the sigma 1.4/35mm or the 1.4/50mm
>>
Best to get a cheap lens and put a red ring on it so thatway people think your pro
>>
OP, if you want a 24-70 2.8 go for a Tamron.
>>
>>2742116
No worries man. My first lens was actually a manual focus 50mm f1.4. It's a good way to learn and the lens will be cheap. If you aren't comfortable with a prime get some zooms, if you aren't comfortable at that focal length work out why not and do what you can to change it. I actually agree with the Russians and Pentax, 43mm and 58mm feel far more natural than 50, but both are close enough not to make an obscene amount of difference
>>
>>2740865

Why the Sigma?
>>

$$$
