You gotta work hard to make this land interesting. It's pretty uniform and flat. Trees unremarkable, clouds aren't helping much. Only thing you've got is the power lines to create a leading line, but they lead the eye no where in your frame. It's in desperate need of a subject. Keep in mind that photos have several layers: foreground, midground and background. You've got a boring background and not much else.

This shot is quite nice.
Use a tripod and get longer exposure, smaller aperture (maybe f8) and smaller ISO.
Only problem would be the people in the background wouldn't appear, but they probably don't affect the photo too much.

I like it. Negative space provides a good balance with the building. It's an interesting angle and nice lines. My only minor nitpick is i wish the angle was slightly lower so that the leading line from the lower left of the frame connects with the one from the lower right.

You gave a young kid a double chin by shooting at such a low angle. Stand up from the table and shoot slightly down on him, it's more flattering for like 95% of people. Background is also a little distracting, but maybe it's significant to you (vacation home/cabin?), i would rather see it blurred more.

exposure - i think it's fine, maybe a little underexposed in general but again, not necessarily so for this composition.
i almost said "consider lengthening the exposure, assuming you are on a tripod, that might do some cool things with the water." and then i looked in the EXIF and saw a 80.6 sec exposure time and that you took this at 1 in the morning lol. safe to say my comment would've been useless.
composition, it's lovely, great leading lines all over the place. again i think the foreground is hurt a little because it's so dark, it's hard to tell what i am looking at.

Here's a bit brighter version just to show what is hidden in the shadows. I can correct the exposure a bit with Capture NX2.
The "Image Created" time isn't when I took this photo. It's the time I saved the cropped version. It was shot 20:42 local time. Also longer exposure doesn't do much to the water, because it's frozen.
It's a relief to hear the composition works this time. I've been practicing landscapes for so long, that I've become blind to them.

Maybe, but I feel it's less interesting, and the light comes out in a way that's a bit complicated, the curtain and window frame is brighter than the reflection and the subject itself, the buildings are then messy due to the reflection and the reflection isn't clean.
In the end it's my opinion, so whatever, but I think it could have been better.

This one was after the sunrise (hidden behind thick clouds) and I thought it would be interesting, but I was fucking cold and had enough.
Since it was past sunrise the ND filter only got me 5 seconds, it's not as sharp as I hoped it would be and the colors look meh. I expected good tones from the sky, reflection, crane and moss, can't be helped. Maybe I'll bump saturation and vibrance a bit more but I'm not actually happy with the picture and the sunlight right now doesn't help with editing the raw so I'll leave it as a snapshit I guess.
I wanted to get equal distance to sky and in the reflection but that god damn handrail.

I'm not sure, I mean it's alright but the buildings look like they are falling into each other, I think I would have stepped back a bit, or taken a different angle and correct the perspective. If the subject is the concrete and glass building I think I would have put more emphasis on it. For example, I like the edge of the building, where the two sides meet inwards, but that angle and contrast doesn't help.

Go to art museums, if not art museum websites. Read art books (not just photo composition 101 books, actual books about photography as an art). Interact with the art world.
Adding animals or tractors will add things to your photo but that won't necessarily give it substance. They need to be there for a reason, otherwise there's no point. Have you heard of minimalism? If you really needed more things in your photo, minimalism wouldn't exist. It's all about execution. Your photo here is a nice, simple photo. Feel free to add more, but if it still doesn't do it for you, then consider why. Don't get caught up in /p/'s insecurity-fueled race for an "interesting photo" and don't think /p/ knows it all. /p/'s standard for a good photo is "it's interesting and looks good" — it's really a low standard, not to mention vague. You're better off saying "fuck you" and doing things on your own for a while.

Yeah I noticed that I got the saturation and balance all wrong. I should avoid editing raws when I can't see the screen properly.
But I'm still unsure to be honest with the balance.
The thing is that it was a heavy overcast and some fog, plus it was cold (under 10°C) so that throws it even more into the blues, so I'm not really sure if I want to shift it that much to a natural white.
Same with saturation, I do like the wet foggy wet saturated walls common in europe but with overcast they tend to feel a bit desaturated.
Dunno really, I'm just starting again with photography after a long long break.

I don't have a problem with people in landscape shots when it's actually hard to tell the scale/perspective of a scene, however in this shot that's not the case. You can already tell from your position on the ground that the mountains are huge and overpowering, without needing the girl for reference.

if you resized the photo then it'd look sharp, could even run it through a sharpen filter since it wouldn't be resized on anyone's screen at 1000px, unless someone's on a phone or something
could have moved the camera to the left a bit, doesn't quite feel centred and there's a bit of a branch sticking into the frame on the top right that could have been removed. might look fine just cropping it a bit. could also raise the camera up and point it down to avoid the bit of sky peeking into the frame up top.

I definitely would have gone with a narrower aperture and slower shutter speed. At an 18mm focal length, you could still easily hand-hold it at 1/100 with an f/8 aperture to get more detail in the valley. The haze of the air would still make the background indistinct.

Only thing that bothers me that could be fixed are the leaves on the middle-left of the frame. They're the darkest thing there. I'd try to either lighten it or crush the blacks to the brightness of the lighter leaves ahead of it, but I'd do it in LAB instead of RGB so that there's still colour instead of grey. Maybe fade the curves adjustment into the original image ~50%.

Cheers for the feedback man. The only reason I chose that fast of a shutter speed was because it was windy as all fuck and those foreground trees were really moving, I didn't want to risk fucking around with settings too much and missing that light ray
