I went around Europe snapping some photos; I have never really held a camera before then but I bought my first DSLR and decided I was going to learn how to use it. All my photos were taken completely with manual settings.

I'm also going to move to Buenos Aires in a couple of months and I want to get new lenses. My focus is going to be on wide-angle architecture photography and nightlife (like closeups & groups of people). Looking for a lens and body recommendation for these two types (& possibly a new body, I'm shooting w/ a Nikon D5300)

Wide angle architecture photography and nightlife you'd definitely benefit from a nicer lens but your body is going to be fine. Glass is more important than your body but honestly you dont really need a new lens as much as you need to just practice more as you could have done better with that setup

>>2727714
meh, bit too cluttered not much that really draws my eyes and the colors are annoying

>>2727719
subject is not entirely in frame or in focus

would have turned the iso down and shot wider open

>>2727722
once again you could have shot a bit more wider open so you could use a faster exposure and it's cut off on both sides

this is probably my favorite of the three

Night life is easier with the A7S (II) or D4S or 1D X. Also the A7R II in the right mode. These are good low light shooters, and better at it with an average lens than any lens on a normal body.

What lenses exactly you can get depends on the system and weight you're aiming for. But on your current camera, there are a bunch of nice Sigma Art lenses to consider (apart from the obvious Nikkor choices, and the better Tamron zoomies).
