Actually these are really cool cyberpunk images, specially the first two ones, Thanks anon <3

Fairly ordinary shots of Tokyo at night. Possibly shot on tungsten film but more probably fucked around with in lightroom

Little contrasty imo, but nicer to look at, than 90% of the snapshits posted here.
Since I have you here anyway: Could you post pics of your battlestation again? Need some inspiration, since I'm planning to upgrade my shit in january and always looked the looks of yours. Bitte, danke!
>Not even a single picture of someone jacked in
>>2725621
here you go dude
>>2725503
the capsule hotel in the middle of the picture has a hot spring bath on the top floor (that round building with the big windows). Really comfy and a great view.
How do you get the lights to be so blueish if I may ask?
>>2725639
most capsule hotel do the ones I went in all had one.
>tfw being naked around a squadron of naked salaryman
>How do you get the lights to be so blueish if I may ask?
I made them cyan/blue in photoshop/lightroom there are hundred ways to do that. The easiest should be with selective color correction.
>>2725638
Thanks man! Now if only I could find the other dude's with his desk legs being huge, slightly orange-metallic looking hi fi speakers, my inspiration folder would be complete.
>>2725641
Really neat set, the original GITS aesthetics comes through no question. Where was it,hongkong / tokyo? Also, what cam is this?
>>2725665
all tokyo, hongkong would probably fit even better since the original GITS movie was modeled after it.

It's cool that the city is bright enough to shoot 1/80th at reasonable iso's in the night as well
I enjoy your grading throughout the pics but that blown out red lamp seems kinda nasty.
>>2725676
same here you just need to travel.
>>2725680
how expensive is it
>>2725682
I think it was 3k € for me including flight and 3 weeks jr rail pass (which is the max) for 6 weeks. I did stay with a friend for 3 weeks tho so I saved the hotel cost.
I would definitely recommend to go there for 3 weeks and make full use of the jr rail pass, it's like irl cheat code.
>>2725682
I paid around 2500€ for my first trip (22 days) and 5000€ for my second trip (around 7 weeks). Could be cheaper if you cut down on stupid spendings (hospital bill for after being blackout drunk, prostitutes, 3 weeks rail pass that I only used for 1 week, changing travel plans spontaneously during golden week etc.). The dollar is also relatively strong right now so if you're from the US, now's a good time to go
>>2725676
Nature is better anyway... go for it.
>tfw too poor to travel to japan and shoot night photos of Shinjuku hookers...
>>2725733
we had a freegan superweeb around these parts a few years ago who went to japan despite having basically no money. slept in mcdonald's since they're 24 hour and won't kick you out. now he lives there and shoots nothing but blue-tinted jap cliches.

>>2725790
that's one of my pics
>>2725638
look at that
gits isnt playing with nobody watching it this time
>>2725792
No? There are values you can and imo should monitor when postprocessing. You can do some extreme colour shifting and make it look good by simply keeping your blacks true black.
>>2725821
Unless you don't want your blacks true black, because you like the aesthetic provided by not having them... You act like "your deepest shadow must be 0,0,0" is some rule that if you don't follow, you fail photography...
Your opinion is just that. Your opinion. You should avoid stating it as if it's widely accepted scientific fact. Especially since it's worth exactly as much as a person who does enjoy the work, and indeed, much less than the opinion of the artist himself.
>>2725638

Pic related, my best /p/urchase to date, no kidding.
There is an arcade in Kawasaki modeled after the Walled City. It's pretty good even if relatively small, don't miss it if you're ever in Tokyo.

holy shit I never heard of the walled city. That's so awesome. Wish it would still exists

It's one of the big regrets in my life that I only started visiting Hong Kong after it was gone.
>>2726752
It had its many problems of course, but if you read the book I linked above (it's as fascinating photo-wise as well as text-wise) then you'll see that people there had pretty homely, if poor, lives.

nishi-kiyacho dori?

For the factual record:
Kowloon has 111,450 people per square mile.
And New York City has 27,857.9 people per square mile.
>>2726755
I know that feel bro.
Will be there in Hong Kong on Chinese New Year for two weeks.

Yeah, the place is a goldmine for street shooting. I did a timelapse in Mongkok once. Also slow shutter shooting there. Then went to a bar at night in one of the highest buildings there overlooking the harbor. The skyline and the lights are beautiful.
BTW any recommendations on rooftoping in Honkg Kong? Is it hard in there? Want to take a pictures of the city from the highest place possible.
>>2727455
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJkuCzgg7fo
I heard that most roof's are actually unlocked all the time. Can't say for sure tho.
>>2727503
Yeah, I've totally seen it. These guys are really crazy.
But I mostly wanted to get first hands experience from the fellow /p/ visitors though. And I am pretty sure that we should have at least one person who lives or lived in Hong Kong.
>>2727549
>at least one person who lives or lived in Hong Kong
It's been done and it's been in the news so I would guess that many places that were once unlocked are now locked. But it's not something I would do so I may be wrong.
>>2726453
Chungking Mansions is nothing like the Kowloon walled city. It's just a fire hazard full of backpacker hostels, African and South Asian mobile phone traders and curry houses.
>>2725638
hey i remember this station in a webm from a way back time on /g/

Damn right it's the shit. But I'm talking about the real shit that may/will go down in HK when the handover is complete. It's still 30 years but my family living there is seriously concerned and they're torn between staying and standing up for their land or bailing the fuck out.
