I bought my first camera 5 months ago, and recently, 2 books from Bresson and Harry Gruyaert that really help me a lot. Some critique will help a lot, i struggle a lot with the framing and what things to cut off from it.

Keep your aspect ratios/processing consistent in a set of pictures.
Use the finder to control what you want in the frame and what you don't want in the frame.
You're making good progress, all I can say is to continue shooting and to keep looking at pictures by great photographers. Try not to fixate on a particular photographer's gimmick or fall into gearfaggotry. Explore lots of techniques and styles to see what you like.

I like it.
>>2724783
reminds me of Lee Friedlander's self portrait with his shadow on a woman's back
>>2724781
you've got some nice shots. just keep shooting.

Can I ask what your set up is? the exif says you're using a X-E1, how did you make it look like film? A filter?

High ISO, it isn't film grain it's noise. Most people can tell the difference, so don't shoot at high ISO on purpose to make it look like film.
>I struggle a lot with the framing and what things to cut off from it
The idea is usually to keep what is essential and leave out what is unessential. We can't really tell you what changes to make to your photo, because your photos are about communicating your own perspective — not trying to fit it with ours. When you're going through the process of curating your own work, reflect on the photo: what did you see that made you want to take the picture; what's the idea behind it? Does the composition (positioning, framing, etc) communicate that idea well, or does it do something else? Is that good or bad for you?
To me, it's just about how you feel. Sometimes the content of the photo and its meaning outweighs the composition's imperfections or harmonizes with them. Sometimes though, the composition makes me perceive the picture in a way that is not consistent with my own intentions, so I discard the photo.

I actually really like this one. It confused, but intrigued me.
Well thx a lot guys for the advice.

In this one, is a grainy VSCO filter who give that look. Love film. When i manage to master some "tecnhical" aspects of the camera, i will definitely buy film.
>>2724915
True. But is like, i can cut a milimiter or not. Its more a "esthetichal" felling than a "logical" one. Some times are pics that i cant work out how the fuck to crop them, and sometimes, the crop just fell good.

Film is no more difficult to shoot than digital. If you've ever used a camera in manual mode before you wont struggle. Look for one with a decent lightmeter though, mine has one that tells you the shutter speed to use according to the aperture and film speed. Easy peasy
Only different thing is you can't chimp photos like you can on digital, but that's a good thing to be honest
>>2725130
Yeah but i have some problems exposing the photos perfectly in the street, usually have to adjust some stops on post. Is easy to do that on film?
>>2725305
very
>>2725129
which vsco filter is that?
>>2725333
Some portra i think
Dont know how to fell about this one.
