I grew up and still live near KPIT. always wanted to do more airline stuff. I'm thinking of setting up on a hillside under a common approach path with a view of the runway to do some long exposure stuff if I get a free night during the holiday.
Been a planespotter for a few years now. I'm on a 70D with a 55-250 STM, but am looking at upgrading to a Sigma 150-600. That or a 100-400 mk 1.

the 100-400 is a nice lens. not as long as some of the others, the IS isn't the best, and it the way you zoom in and out makes you feel like you're jerking off an elephant, but it's very sharp.

Cheers mate
Late this summer planes started coming in over my house, due to some temporary changes in use of the runways at the nearby airport.
They got really close!

Nice shot anon

Scimitar blades are cool.
Whenever I see modern turboprops, it always makes me a little sad that jets got so good so fast and so we'll never get to see an air-superiority prop fighter made with modern tech.

Why do I get turned on with that sexy rear end fuselage?
Sometimes when I'm bored I listen to them on the scanner, and sometimes ill go and watch them land/take off.
The radio helps me work out the best time to go.
(Id like to try and make something like this)
