I bought an used Nikon D70.
It is working very well, the body has no scratches. Only around 10.000 actuations.
But, BUT the rubberized finish is sticky. How do I clean this shit?

Alcohol wipe?
I have a F100 that had the same issue.
I used Goo-gone. The trick was to let the sticky part soak for a bit so the goo-gone could do it's work.
Goo-gone is a citrus based solvent.
Not sure if it's available outside the US.

Also F100 here.
I used isopropyl alcohol and a cloth. Dont use paper towel. Give it a rub, and it comes right off.
Goo gone is going to be a bit more aggressive. I expect it works fine, but might leave an oily residue.

>organic solvents or anything too acidic or basic will fuck your rubber.
Guess what's in windex, dummy. Also, water's not going to do shit to an organic compound like the sticky stuff.
one of my nikon f5's has done the same.
OP here, alcohol + paper towel solved partially the problem. The goo is not that easy to remove. I will have to do it again some more times.

>Guess what's in windex, dummy.
here's your reply, clean your camera or monitor with windex everyday. take a before and after. windex is already pretty dilute.

Only the delicate friction of the human tongue can cleanse rubbery surfaces of phallic discharge. You know what to do anon
My Canon 300D had this issue. Anything with ammonia in it should do the trick. It took me about 12 squares of paper towel and Windex until the surface was nice and smooth.
Warm water. Jesus Christ. Do you know how to hold a broom?

I tried paper towel, and it just left paper fibres behind.
A tea towel works better in that regard.
TRY SOME ALCOHOL AND WATER AND WIPE THAT STICKY SHIT https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=208746442&token=hNQ0z02q
I bought my gf a d70 for Xmas and it was sticky, thanks for this thread OP. I thought it was soda or something.
