Use hashtags in a separate comment, wait a few hours, then delete the comment. Most hashtags will only get you likes for a few hours at most

He means if you dont want a mass of tags in your initial post, its less obnoxious for your followers. Delete them because like he said the your pic will slowly get pushed down on that tags page, eventually no one will ever see is so just delete them after the likes stop coming in so you go back to having a nice clean post again going back to looking less obnoxious. Hashtags don't work like that anymore. They are now listed by the time at which your image was posted, not when you commented with a hashtag.

What has worked for me is liking numerous photos of every person that likes my photo.

Especially those that are novel "likers". So I'll post a photo, and a bunch of likes will be from people who have never liked one of my photos. I'll be sure to go to their profile and like a bunch of their photos -- always make sure to like the most recent photo.

Sure, not all of these people will follow you back -- but some will. It may take minutes to accomplish if you get a lot of likes, but it's just swiping and tapping, so it's not thaaaaat difficult.

If you really want to increase the potential for followers, every once in a while throw out a comment.

Regardless, always like peoples' photos. Like a bunch, they'll notice the barrage and likely check your shit out.

You need to be active in getting followers.

You've gotta interact with the community. Find pictures you like (search hashtags), and "like" them. Comment when appropriate. Follow people if their shit is incredible and they will follow you back if your pics are good.

All that interaction drives people to see who the fuck is this rando that just complimented them, and then if your stuff is good, you'll gain some traction.

I get 30-40 new followers a day doing this.

I've just conducted a small experiment with this Archie service.

I had the service active for 1hr using 10 tags including #filmphotography and #landscape. In total, I gained 3 followers, 1 comment and approximately 25 likes.

Approximately 10 minutes after deactivating Archie I stopped receiving consistent notifications.

I then spent (less than) 1hr manually going through recent posts using the same 10 tags Archie was told to use. I only <3'd photos that I actually liked, and commented occasionally (props and/or CC). I've gained about 15 followers, received 5+ comments and I've lost count of the likes (still receiving consistent notifications).

In summation, it's clear that commenting on (rather than just liking) others' content drastically increases the chances of them visiting your page and interacting with your content. Sure, doing this manually takes more time - but you don't have to feel bad for using a bot - and viewing others' content can help you develop as a photographer. Win/win.

Nah, that was basically a "w-we're all playing by the same rules right guiz?" type of thing. In reality, people have been posting both DSLR and film images on IG from the start. Anything to get a better photo than the rest.

it'll mainly be to photo, i'm getting bored of all the spots around where i live and i kind of just want to have a day to myself doing something i enjoy.
i've been to melbourne heaps but mainly just the surrounding area of southern cross station, come up nearly every week for the footy so its not like im completely new. I know my way around the cbd pretty well, like i wouldnt get lost.
