Still use it occasionally. Takes decent pictures unless you're working in the dark at all. If I could change it at all I'd give it more manual settings and image stabilization. It drives me nuts when I see a point & shoot made without IS. Granted its a few years old but the form factor just needs IS.

I loved this camera! I thought I was the shnizzle dizzle with this floppy disk wonder!!!

I think I used a compact that belonged to my mother when I was very young but I have no idea what it was or if I still have it. I bought a D7000.last year.
TFW my dad had an old Praktica SLR sitting unused in a drawer since before I was born and when I asked if I could have it when I was about 5-8 years old and he said no. Way to teach me a neat skill as a kid dad.

1993, I was 11, turning 12
My dad had just upgraded to a super awesome automatic Nikon Point & Shoot Zoom camera, and I "inherited" his old Pentax ME, with nifty-fifty, macro-teleconverter and a vivitar 70-210
"turn the ring until the two planes align"
"turn the clicking ring until the red dot is at 125 or higher"
I kind of managed! Even though half my shots were blurry shit regardless, probably because I probably ignored the split prism and just turned the ring until everything looked ok in the VF.

Is that positive paper?
It was a Christmas present from my grandparents. It got me interested in photography but I almost immediately stole my mom's old Oly OM-2n and started using that instead.

Just discovered it has a roll of exposed film in it from 20+ years ago.

Get that shit developed ASAP, glorious nostalgia awaits. I've had a couple of cameras that came in job-lots with film in them. The film in the first had photos from a young kids birthday, the fashion and decor dated it to the late 80's at absolute latest. The best part is that I showed my mother the photos and she is 95% sure she knows one of the adults in the photos. Haven't tracked her down yet though.

Still can't tell if I fell for a meme.
Sold it in 2014.

Minolta Hi-Matic AF2. It was my parent's but I probably used it more than them.

Minolta fixed lens cameras are great.
Minolta Memory Maker, got it from my dad for Christmas when I was 6 or so. Recently I ran into the negatives of the very first roll I shot with it. Little me hadn't realized you can't take macro shots of toy soldiers with a point and shoot lel.

good ol´ times
Marvel at this beast from 2002 :
o Estimated storage space (2 MB SDRAM):
o 160 photos or 15 seconds of video in 176x144 pixels
o 40 pictures in 352x288 pixels
• Focus range: 1.3 feet (40 cm) to infinity
• 40-degree field of view, f 2.4
Every time the batteries popped out (and they did, a fuckin lot) everything was erased from the internal memory. I carried it around with me a LOT and tried to make every shot count. I think I still have some of my old stuff on floppy disks around somewhere.

>>2689897 One of these. We did pinhole photography in my high school class for like a week before moving on to Lomography, then SLRs, Medium format, etc. X3
In Middle school I first started shooting with a Rebel K2.
Then I went to a Minolta Vectis APS, then digital with a panasonic FZ something.
Then when I graduated from HS, I got my first camera that I actually owned my self, a Rebel T2i.
this thing was pretty damn awesome
>>2690315

Awesome examples.
I had a motherfuckin MC3 for my first digital. I was the envy of the town.
I had something similar to this that I won as a kid, but I don't remember what brand it was.
I don't think i actually took any photos with it either. I just used it as a toy.

The photos are still around in a box somewhere. Should find them.

Finepix S9800
it looks better that it is
Yashica TL Electro - my old man used it to shoot thousands of slides back in the 70s. Then I mowed grass all summer long and worked part time to buy it off him.
Great camera. But I got seduced by the Canon AE-1 program model and traded in the Yashica to get the Canon....
Got this for my 18th birthday.

A black Olympus Mju was the first one I got to use and can remember. First one of my own was a digital point and shoot of some sort.
I only consciously started doing photography a year ago to be honest (at the ripe age of 26), when my girlfriend taught me to use the old SLR my parents had. It was an OM-10, though we then found my parents' OM-40 as well and I ended up using that instead. First one I bought myself was an OM-1.
I did do a photography course in lower secondary school though, it included darkroom printing and everything. I never got to start then though, because my parents were afraid I'd break the camera or something. Oh well.
Eos400D. That indestructable beast. To be honest the form factor of the small camera wit a battery grip was absolutely perfect for my hands. The 50D I had after that was a better camera, but to big with a grip and too small without one. Now I use a fuji xe2 and kinda miss canons ergonomics.
