Is that the scissors? I have never even seen one IRL.

Are they specifically made for climbing or what? Some of that stuff made specifically for one application actually seems like it would work well like the Leatherman MUT or whatever tool for the AR platform and I think CRKT makes an AR tool as well.

Just regular old penny shears. Cost like 2 bucks. If I use them I usually toss them because they get covered in blood/shit/piss/vomit god knows what else. Sure you can sterilise the raptors but they are a bitch to do because of all the nooks and crannys. Also people will call you a recscue ricky or batman because you actually spent money on something so dumb.

Do people really organize all their EDC shit when they take it out of their pockets? Making it look all fancy and ready for a photoshoot.?

I just throw all of my shit on the table and walk around in my underwear afterwards.
Seems like a lot of unneeded organization for shit that's going to be thrown right back in your pocket the next day.
>>
>>990012
I actually have some OCD characteristics so yeah i always organize it all mostly the same way, wipe off anything that got dirty with a soft cloth, throw away any nickels and pennies i got as change because they're useless dead weight, and so forth

I find I'm more likely to carry everything if I make it highly routinized, less likely to go "ehh i'm not going to need my real knife, my lighter, or my kerchief today" if its all neatly put in the same place every evening

maybe i have autism

Pack is for central Europe, Germany.
Don't want to cover 72 hours in the woods or something alike.
Supposed to be a first responder kit or something I can carry when doing bike-trips. Just something which comes handy at times.

-no snakes around here
-no guns allowed unfortunately
-got a knife
-got a torch

>water tablets
Water tablets / pill to purify water?

for pliers I look around for cheap Leathermans or Gerber tools. Still searching for the right one.

Will add the headlamp.
tourniquet was on my list already.

Crowbar seems itneresting. But my EDC pack is quiet small (4" x 6") or something alike. Dont know if one is worth it if it is so small and hence cant apply good force with it.
Do you have experience with it?
>tacitcal qu'ran

>>1000764
Maybe add a dust mask too, anon. As for the crowbar a flathead screwdriver does the trick.

This is just my usual EDC for the day to day in the city

Everything to the left goes in the front pocket of the bag, the paperclips are for impromptu lockpicks, after locking myself out of the flat like a twat on paddy's day I decided to learn.

Everything to the right goes in the main pocket (I've thrown in a packet of noodles and tin of tuna recently too) Euskadi tin is firelighting materials, geometry set tin in the back is just medicine, plasters etc.

Everything in front is what's in my pockets or generally on my person

Bag is 10 liters.

Have pretty much anything I'll need and then some for the day to day or in a get home situation in the city

Sure but why would a man carry pepper spray? If shit happens it won't protect you from ahmed with his glock brand glock or his 10 cousins. If it's only one cunt and you're german there's pretty big chances that you can overpower mohamed and his manlet body.

In case of neither of those options your best best is just run, run Forrest.

Why the flashlights? I was leaning into a prometheus myself but it didn't make sense to me when I carry a cell phone that already had a light on it.

I highly recommend doing a mini Bic on your keychain instead of a separate item. Keeps the clutter down and duct tape fits around the lighter perfectly.

>>989729
Going it alone just becomes a reality of outdoorsman life. More so as time passes and age accumulates. A lot of people who "like camping" really just like partying in the woods or telling people they like camping. This is the impression I have gotten over time. Just go it alone and make sure someone knows where you are going and when you are expected back.

Pic related is my EDC currently. I debate a great many additions and changes quite often but have a hard time justifying items. My philosophy is two fold.

First is that an EDC item must actually be useful and used just about every day. Carrying around a bunch of just in case stuff is a whole different focus of preparation and I personally feel is better done with a car kit or something. Trying to cram a plethora of items onto your person daily just doesn't make sense to me.

The second requirement I seek to meet is multifunctionality and application in emergency situations. An item with one purpose and function is inefficient unless that function is extremely significant.

Hand guns are a perfect example of an exception to both rules. Generally speaking they are not used daily and serve no real practical function in general day to day activities they are also single function items. The clincher is that it can be a life changing item in specific scenarios where no other item would have the same affect. That life saving functionality is not able to be improvised in the field and is unique to the item.

I don't think that hand guns are necessary to carry around every day and you pretty much summed up why yourself.

Any number of items could potentially be live saving in a particularly scenario. For example:
Seat belt cutter & glass breaker
Complete ratchet & socket kit
Complete first aid kit
Flare gun
Giant roll of duct tape or super glue
Automatic External Defibrillator
Hypodermic needle and antivenom

You can think of scenarios that could conceivably happen on any random day which you'd die if you didn't have one of these items. The reason that people don't carry these things around all the time is that though it's possible that you might need these things, it's not very likely, and like you said, carrying all this stuff around doesn't make any sense.

So yah, having a gun could potentially save your or a friend's life, but think, is the chance that you will need it any higher than, say, the chance of you or a friend getting bitten by a black widow spider? Honestly, I think the chances of needing some of these things on my list are more likely than the chance of needing a gun. I've never been in a situation where I've needed a gun, but I've been around medical emergencies or terrible car crashes where a large first aid kit could have saved a life.

So i guess what I'm saying is that unless you have a particularly dangerous job or live in an incredibly dangerous place, carrying a gun is just dead weight and unnecessary preparedness.

Unfortunately no luck yet, mate.
>>

why is your coffee cup upside-down? did you trap a battle spider?
>>
>>1008577

Cause a flashlight actually has reach, unlike your phone. I rather loan some one a light, not my phone.
>>

Tactical flute?
>>
>>1017008
I actually have used it for that. But also because I use the bottom of that mug to sharpen my knoifes.
>>
Most of this shit looks new and unused. I highly doubt most if any of you carry anything (aside from the obvious joke ones) and are just trying to project some sort of image here.

Pretty sad, honestly.
>>
>>1017037
My phone has pretty decent reach actually. But everyone's phone is different I will give you that. That being said...how far are you trying to see with a keychain light? And for why? How often do you use the light on a daily basis and for what purposes that could not be superceded by your phone light?

Basically would just like to hear the justifications of a light as a survival aid and why those purposes could not be fulfilled by your cell phone.

Quads confirms!

Seriously tho, fuck this nonsense. Add another phone (the one I took the pic witg) and more paperwork and that's my work day.

That isn't what I said, but okay. Nice projection.

Milwaukee is straight, but you say it like DeWalt is shitty. There's a reason that the #1 tool you see at jobsites is DeWalt.

Somewhat related, I was at Home Depot the other day and saw these new Ryobi tools with tiny ass batteries and it looked kinda nice for my weekend warrior jobs when I want something that works well but isn't XXL HEAVY DUTY.

Just got the ultimate meme knife, couldn't resist taking a new EDC pic.

Also, please excuse the hideous vape. It keeps me off the cigs and it was the only one with the right combo of size, power, and battery life for my needs. I'm thinking of covering it with vinyl or something, maybe adhesive pleather.

Also also, fuck, I just realized I forgot my watch. Currently wearing a Seiko 173 on an OD Zulu strap.
>>
>>1019059
No matter what you cover your vape with, it will still be gay.
>>
>>1019148
Yeah I know, but at least I'm not subjecting other people to secondhand smoke or littering the world with butts.

read Allen Carr's 'Easy Way to Quit Smoking'. I quit the beginning of may and haven't had a problem at all with finding nicotine replacements or harsh cravings.
>>
>>1019201
I'll check it out, but I dunno, I managed to stay off for 3 years (when I had a GF) and every day of it was hell. Vaping is the only thing I've found that keeps me sane without smoking.

are you practicing for the xgames. sadly i actually know what your bike looks like from a thread over a year ago, and i dont even frequent your lanes
>>
>>1019210
Kek nah I haven't even ridden the thing seriously in a long time. Once you start getting older and have to pay bills, it's hard showing up to work with crippling injuries and telling your boss and the Worker's Comp people that you fell on your bicycle AGAIN.

You need to add a slide rule for extra redundancy.

I have to agree with my fellow anons, just go alone.
You can enjoy the trip by yourself, don't have to spend your energy on your mates' problems, get to hike at your own pace, don't have to take responsibility but for yourself when something goes wrong...
Take a good book with you for the evening or put an audiobook on your phone (though personally I'm against using electronics in nature).
As long as you're not a super extrovert, you should enjoy it and make it home safe and sane.

I carry a lighter, too.
Even non-smokers can benefit from it.
>opening a beer without handling my edc knife
>getting into social contact with smokers at the pub more easily
>lightning candles when qt3.14 is coming soon and you want not to sleep alone in your indoor-hammock this night

Lots of uses senpai

Good idea. You never know when a massive solar flare will hit and knock out both calculators.

>>1019318
I had a friend like that. Actually came in handy when I couldn't find a lighter and I would just ask him.

Hey champ, go ahead and live in perpetual fear of a race war and jack off every night to your power fantasy of killing unarmed black people. Most adults do things other than watch Alex Jones and read Mein Kampf so they have a healthy, rational view of the world and aren't slaves to their emotions and irrational fears that need to tote around a bit hunk of metal everyday just to compensate for their fragile psyche.
