I'm trying to get into exploring abandoned places, but I don't know how to find them.

I live in a Southern town so it's not exactly urban. There's a lot of woods around where I live, and most of those woods are full of caves and sinkholes and generally hainted so most people don't go out there. There's abandoned places out in the woods all over the place, but I don't know exactly where. There's even an old railroad that used to run through there back in the 60s.
>>
>>989064
Google earth is your friend.
>>
>>989069

The woods are so dense here that you can't see anything from Google Earth, even in the winter. The woods are known as a real spook zone so nobody's built anything in them since maybe the 60s or 70s.
>>
>>989064
If you're smart enough, go to the librar/university and go to the map room and find old maps and compare them with newer ones. If the old places aren't on the new one that's a good place to start.
The rr track would be good as well, just expect to walk a lot. Be careful that you make you self known when in the woods cuz some land owner might think you're a spook and shoot at you
>>
>>989073
could you be a bit more specific about your location ? might help ya

hey lads

here's an abandoned chemical factory, this factory manufactured some components which were then sold to Iraq in the 80's, they subsequently used them to gas the kurds and Iranians

it closed in 1992 following a large explosion that killed 3 workers in the boiler room

sorry for shitty photos, i had to use snapchat because my camera kept crashing

How do yall find abandoned areas you can get into without being caught? Most everything (which is very little) is fenced off and boarded up, or you can be seen and easily reported.
>>
>>990079
>without being caught
luck, or get caught and talk your way out.
>>
Has anyone been caught? What happened?
Also anyone in Spokane know good places?
>>
>>990058

Yeah I did find a couple burned down houses from 1960 with a bunch of cool loot. The really cool places near me are all heavily guarded, so it's impossible not to get caught

Right now I'm trying to find the railway that used to run through my area
>>
How likely is it to encounter a dangerous person when going into these places?
I feel that maybe junkies and the homeless may use this place as some kind of refuge.

Been caught 3 times, almost caught 5 times.
Twice I got let off, just explained that I was taking pictures, sorry sir, etc.
Other time I got a 300 something dollar ticket, which is due to the fact that I climbed a building and did some funky shit to get in I couldn't really talk my way out of, obviously no b&e though.

Again, depends a lot on the spot. Most places 2-3 is what you should aim for. For places that are essentially free roam - kings park etc - you can do more, but most places you don't want that many.

Never been caught but ran into a groundskeeper in one place and got out of there real quick. Usually try to check a place out during the day first without actually going in, that way you get an idea of the area and find ways in and out.

Wish I'd gotten a pic of it, someone around here spray painted a couple small dinosaur critters on a concrete bridge retaining wall. Not the biggest fan of easily visible graffiti but I'd rather see that than the incomprehensible tagging that stays up for a month before the city paints over it.

With some of the graffiti, I wonder what it means. There's an old concrete stairway leading up to a long abandoned railway stop. On a couple of the risers are the carefully spray painted words "no magic here."

Pic is from a portion of the old brick storm sewers. They have been cut in to and modified so that most storm water is diverted to the Deep Tunnel system about 300 feet below.

how are the trespassing laws over there?
>>
>>1009732

Depends if you get caught. In germany we got a mild telling off from the Police at one place, they took our passport details. Similar in France, got caught by steelworks security who called the police, no fine this time but next they said it could be a 2500 euros.

Sorry that's a meme...i have worked for the railroad almost 20 years now. All over California and Oregon. I rife on the sides of cars all day long. No symbols anywhere anymore. And definitely no book. I am friends with a few bulls and they back that up. Organized riders are dead these days. Hell I haven't seen a riders in at least 5 years myself. There are no scheduled trains anymore either. They have a departure window that can vary widely from an hour to several hours and not same time everyday. Most trains are variable now, and leave when they hit max siding length.

Bumping. If anyone knows any cool areas around SPOKANE, WA please share. I want to go with a couple friends but have no idea where I might find some abandoned buildings
