Any UK anons here?
I'm fed up of not living in the US since I feel like I'm missing out on great wilderness.
Is there anything close to what you'd see in North America here? As in large outdoor space you can go and see nobody for days

Northern Ireland. It sucks here. Biggest forest is about 2 miles and all forests are commercial, which means no camping, boggy ground and a strict no fire rule.
There are moors, but most are literal bogs.
Im an american living in the southern uk, theres plenty of countryside here, nothing really epic like back home but you also dont have to worry about bears and shit here

Sure, we don't have to deal with bears, but at the same time we basically don't have any wildlife at all. It would be nearly impossible to survive outdoors while hunting, as there's basically nothing to hunt.
A lot of Lewis and Harris is pretty wilderness like though not overly expansive.

Basically no trees in the Hebrides as well, which puts me off a bit.

>I swear I saw this post before, like 100%
I always rise to the opportunity to complain about my country's /out/iness, although I'm pretty sure it isn't the exact same post.

There is plenty of wildlife in the UK.
Sure not bears and elephants but a great variety of birds, insect, reptile and plant which actively avoid human activity.
If you can drive a car there or has a trail, there won't any of these wild creatures their.
Reporting in, going to Dartmoor in a few weeks to wild camp with the GF and two friends.
Previously went to the Peak District to camp also, originally planned to wild but ended up in campsites because it seemed real difficult to improvise a camping spot
