Saw a couple RV related posts recently, thought we should bring them all here.
Post your RV/camper/5th wheel/pop-up/travel trailer/ect ect.
Yes we all understand you think it's dumb to own one, no reason to get mad about it.
Ask questions, post pics, get glamping.
Really only use it in the winter.
>Insulated
>Furnace
>DC and AC wiring
Fairly minimal as far as amenities go... not like i'm "camping out" in it though - it's just a place to change and sleep.
Battery runs furnace fan and lights.
Propane burner in the furnace.
Generator can fully recharge the battery (and computers) in about 3 hours.
Furnace can run 24-36h on battery alone, depending on how cold it is outside.
New trailer got completely gutted, new siding, insulated, bunch of work inside.
Garage/shop in the back 2/3, front third is living quarters.
Inside, garage area
2x35k btu furnaces
LED lighting
Cabinets, benches, AV
Big workbench/toolbox up front
All custom-built
Living quarters is still a work-in-progress.
Beetle-kill siding will go up on the walls, make it look like a cabin instead of a trailer
Queen-size bed over the goose, dinette on that short wall, cabinets/etc up there, couple bunks on the wall to my back
Again, fully custom.

breh i love this one, total spent?

I probably put $1k into it. Took me and a buddy about a summer to get it all gone through and knocked out.
Got a deal I couldn't refuse on the trailer itself.
Stripped off all the interior walls (1/4" plywood)
Threw in some insulation, outlet boxes, all new wiring.
Plumbed in propane.
Furnace I scored for way cheap, $250 or so, they usually go for ~$500 used, $700-ish new. Watched Ebay and found this one slightly-misspelled going for retarded cheap, nobody else bid on it.
Bunch of other little odds-n-ends to clean it all up and get it set up for my use, but overall it wasn't too bad.
Do need to go through it again in the next year or two, couple things I want to upgrade.

If you're just looking for a dry place to sleep, it's not hard to convert a trailer like that. If you're hauling stuff like bikes or snowmobiles they work really well.

My dad did something similar to his. He wired Christmas lights and a couple LEDs in, put thin plywood walls. He used it as a snowmobile trailer mostly but a couple times it was our mobile home .

This dude is straight up building a camper by the looks of it.
Very pro my man.

(You) are correct.
It's been a project for about the last two years.
Fairly substantial build, it got stripped down to the skeleton and had some framework mods done to it (Beavertail on the back got flipped up so the inside's flat, with a little more ground clearance).
Replaced the three 8K axles with two 12K's.
All new wood, siding, interior, insulation (iso-board on the sides/roof, sprayed-on underneath), electrical.
Over-time and over-budget, but it's going to cost more down the road if we don't put the effort into doing it right the first time. Didn't want to rush and half-ass things just to get it on the road either.
Finally been able to get it on the road for the past few weeks - Shop area's done enough, just the last bit of trimming out to do in there.
Living quarters are still very "raw" - beetlekill board is being picked up from the mill this weekend, few weekends of working on that and it'll be ready for bunks/dinette/cabinets. I suspect that area will go pretty quick.

Any updated pics?

Just a couple pics of it.
Last few shots are of the propane hookups inside. 100gal horizontal (RV-style) tank shoved in the "utility hole" (Under the goose, in front of the wall where the dinette's going, and behind the outside of the trailer right behind the truck's rear bumper).
Plumbed the fill/vent lines to fittings on the outside of the trailer.
Batteries, landing gear mechanics, and some recovery gear/spare fluids also live under there.
No other glampers on here?
Want to make my own rv type vehicle as a base for climbing trips or camping abroad, not sure whether to go for a van conversion or a trailer. Trailer seems cheaper at the start but ill need to tow it and shit, really looking for any advice before i pump money into this
Britfag btw

It's a start.

I'm working on turning a transit bus into a camper.
>>975480
It's coming along.
>>975481
I had a friend do the same to a school bus. Pic here is it halfway, I don't have finished pics on this laptop.
Bought his bus for $3,500, spent $4,000 on it, sold it for $15,000. We're thinking on starting a business flipping buses.
I know car repair, he knows carpentry, well we both know those things in amounts...anyway I have a landscaping business and doing buses into campers on the side seems like a good idea.
>>975486
I also have this. It was gona be my main camper, but then that transit bus fell into my lap.
>>975488
Almost done. Pics are kinda dated, just need to install windshields and it's finished.
>>975486
Not much of a market for that stuff. He is insanely lucky to have gotten 15k out of it. All fully converted buses ive seen sold have sold for less than 9k.
