Why don't you grow mushrooms /out/?

I've been foraging in my local woods for oyster and hen of the woods mushrooms for a couple of seasons. How do you grow a mushroom?

You grow mushrooms through a few different methods, but some species can be grown very easily, including oyster mushrooms. All it takes is some cardboard and straw, maybe some grain.
