National Parks thread? I wanted to ask you guys about Sequoia. Was wondering where is a good place to camp (for free preferably) and which trails are good for day hikes and aren't high traffic.
I'm planning a road trip in May from Minnesota. Still debating on hotels or tent camping or using our pop up camper.
Minnesota -> Teddy Roosevelt -> Yellowstone -> Grand Tetons -> Custer State Park, South Dakota -> Minuteman Missile National Historic site -> Home in Minnesota
Any thought or suggestions /out/?

If you were comming to the PNW I would have been able to help. But your not so..
Here is what you're going to have to do. Your going to have to:
>find out -state by state- which states you're visiting allow dispersed camping.
>find out which agencies -state by state- manage the land that dispersed camping is allowed on.
>find out which parcels of land managed by which agency are near where you want to be in each state.
>Go camp
Most BLM land and a lot of DNR land allows dispersed camping. Also there is lots of USNF land that also allows dispersed camping.

You can camp anywhere you want in SNF. My buddy and I camped next to the South Fork Kings River every night.
