I'm currently planning on not owning a home anytime soon, but rather be at the mercy of the earth.
Does anybody have experience with combining a backpack and tent into a single pack?
I'd like to just travel far and sleep wherever I want in it, while keeping my belongings. I'd rather not carry around a lot of stuff as it'd be a weight burden for me.
The only thing I can really find is pic related: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/111493935/freestyle-bivypack-the-backpack-that-turns-into-a

Seems like a huge dickaround. Why not just buy a lightweight tent?

I think you want the homeless general thread

Tent in backpack.. so there is no room left for eh just stuff, like food, nice comfy blanky, a stove, your guns, hobo knife, and can collection.
Just don't.. Sometimes combinations are not made for a reason, like the tent/backpack.
Get a nice backpack and some basic stuff, and use your backpack as a pillow so your stuff is safe.
No, seriously. This is just a bad idea and a huge asspain.
Just get a tent and when you pack it, break out the poles and rig them to the side of your pack with the compression straps, then put the fabric in small stuff sack.
Takes up a lot less space that way.
Meme tier garbage that only someone who has never camped and or hiked would think is a good idea.

>whoops it Rained guess my entire pack is soaked. Wish there was a way around during this ohh wait!
