Hey /out/ swinging over from /k/ as I think you guys may be more knowledge on this.
I'm putting together a BoB and I've come across the issue of food. What is a good way to make a home made MRE?
I'm thinking:
>Same level of calories
>More compact/lightweight
>Good nutrition, not a sodium infused cluster fuck
>Reasonably priced in comparison to a $22 MRE
Does anyone have any suggestions of like full MRE level meals rather than just the PB and trail mix.

A carrybob or a carbob?
Get a food dehydrator. Make crockpot meals like chili or even an omelet and dehydrate it, rehydrate on the trail. For breakfast mre I do a veggie omelet dehydrated, a coffee blend (pre portioned coffee, dry creamer, and sugar,) cereal (granola, powdered milk, and freeze dried blueverries) maybe some Gatorade too. Just add water!

Better in every way without making any concessions will be hard especially if you don't already have a vacuum sealing machine or dehydrator.
My advice for a 3 days Bob, either spend the damn money or stuff your bag with 3 days worth of a mix of clif bar & tuna salad, it will get you to the fema camp just right.

This will be a carry bob though I'm open to hearing ideas for both

They always seem to confuse bob with inch pack.
