I hiked in iceland to some stuff from the car and back. Wind can be brutal, as can the weather, whatever you are gonna do, make sure to bring decent layered clothes (expensive good outdoor brands are not a bad idea here, I am talking about arc'teryx/northface/fjallraven). Bring good gloves and headwear. Also, let the help service know where you are going.
