loquats are delicious, but you want them to get a shade darker before they're ripe. they're one of my favorite not-commercially-available fruits. pits are gigantic, so easy to spit but hard to make fruit salad

Be careful anon some have tiny little holes in them where worms have gotten into the fruit and yes wait for the color to change to a bright orange
