Well Bladeforums is always good. I honestly have a lot of fun on /k but I've only been there a few weeks. Honestly I learned most of what I know about knives through YouTube and my own expirence over the years... I've got quite the collection nowadays.

If you have any questions, fixed, folding, machetes, swords, sharpening, ect... I love to chat knives.

And as long as you are getting into knoife collecting, I recommend a sharpening system. For us sc/out/s, a great way to keep our blades in shape is to invest in a good ferro rod. This way we can kill two birds with one stone and start camp fires while getting an edge on that blade.

Are those things actually one bit practical in the real world? Just seems like a horrible blade shape for 99% of stuff you would want to use a knife for.

The only post in that whole thread that makes sense is when some anon mentioned that a ruler in Okinawa tried to outlaw fighting knives so people carried their mini-scythes (karambits) as defense instead.

Oh that is a Gavko EDC. It was custom ordered a 4 or so years ago from Gavko with the lava scales, green G-10 liners, and the Mosaic pin. The Sheath is Kydex with a wood pattern. It's AEB-L steel with an extremely thin 0 convex grind. It's probably my most effective slicing knife.

I bought it from the original owner about 2 years ago, he needed money for textbooks.
