If you consider being homeless in both rural and urban location s, 6 months. Solely rural, never more than a week purely outside of all society, because I had to get food.

Probably drinking straight out of the bottle in the evening, infront of a screen which is leveled a few fists above the floor. Squatting on the floor. Trying his best to post on 4chan. At least that's what I am doing. Give the man a chance.

Also, 2 week hike. Until I rolled off a hill during the night for whatever the fuck of a reason while still in a tent. Tent tore apart because it's shit. And I just got fucking sick of sleeping in the woods. So went home by bus. That was my longest time /out/.

Lived in a one room cabin in the big woods from birth to 6 years old. Dad was an architect, but decided the tat race wasn't worth the prizes.

For money, Dad raised pot, kept honeybees and trapped fur.

Mother "saved" me from the situation when it came time to go to school. Fuck that fucking fucked up bitch.

When I was 14, I ran away from mom, and found my way back to dad. Left the woods for college at 17. Got married and had a son at 22.

Dad died in 2013. I want to raise my son in the woods like I was. It's hard to teach by example here in town. We go to the woods every chance we get. He's turning out to be a really awsome young man.

1 month while K was in JRTC in June. That's the closest I have ever been to wanting to kill myself.

>100+F everyday
>100% humidity everyday
>pissing rain everyday
>mosquitoes and other nasty bugs everyday

And I have to do it twice this year. Thank God i'm getting out of the military after this.
>>
>>952407
4 months.

I worked for a security team in guatemala guarding an archaeology site and aside from the weekly trip into town for supplies and fuel, I spend the entire time outdoors.

I'm happy to say only one of us got attacked by wildlife.

>>952605
Go on, plez.

Me and the GF were at Martin Creek a few months back and a raccoon came out of the bush, making no attempts at being quiet, looked at us at the picnic table, walked along the edge of the woods towards us until about fifteen feet away and goes back into the bush. This was like 6 in the evening, sun didn't go down for another two hours. First time I've had a raccoon do that. Armadillos sure, the dumb little shits.

Came over a week early, left when the cleanup was done.
Worked for the radio station last year, got permission to ride around on that little dirt bike.

I can't understand touring on a fatbike

you spend all day 'touring' which is riding 1.5 miles to camp in the field across from your house

>>
>>952407
Like 2 days lol...even on a long weekend...drive there, hike and camp for a couple days, drive back...go back to work.
>>
>>955682
Fat bikes are not as inefficient as they look. Because they are usually rigid framed and the tires absorb so much shock they end up being just as efficient as a regular suspended bike over rough terrain, with the added benefits of being more comfortable and easier to maintain. A fully loaded touring bike is going to weighs about 60-80 lbs and at least where I live the trails are quite steep and muddy meaning the extra grip is 100% neccisary if you intent to ride up hills as opposed to walking.

i did the at in 2014 in 98 days, so what an extra 2-3 weeks? Though I was inside every 2-3 days (i averaged ~23m/day), the at isnt really an outdoor experience, more like an ultra marathon
>>
>>952407
Just hiked the Appalachian Trail last year, took me 8 months to go from Georgia to Maine
>>
>>952407

Ca. 2 weeks. A camp at winter, -20 C, Finland's west coast. During military service, so can't really count it as 100% outdoor life for various reasons.

14 days at philmont. I need to get /out/ again. My scout troop went camping every month and since I've gone to university I've on;y been once in the last 4 years and it was to a state park campground so it wasn't even really /out/

It's been too damn long.
