How much do you need?
I live in Europe and there's these old farmhouses in bumfuck nowhere for dirt cheap, I will probably pull the trigger on one too but it's kinda hard since there's no jobs near them and commuting 50 km a day ain't good $$$.

In the summers, 2 to 3 months, I live in central Maine, with in the 100 mile wilderness. Not alone though, various family members and friends come and go all summer.

But it's 30 miles drive from the nearest town, 10 of that on dirt road, and behind 2 gates, one locked. Also off the grid, we have solar and wind, and a generator, but mostly for power tools and the few things that can't run of pro pain tanks. Barely a cell phone signal, just enough to get out a text or call from some spots on calm days. We are on a lake, it's beautiful.

I don't know what more to say other than its amazing and lovely.

Upstate NY is nice but check out the Hudson River Valley area near VT. They have a lot of right to farm towns too and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the North East.

The more i think about it, the more accurate it is from a American perspective.
Their nearest neighbors is a town center some 40-60km away, and a obscured army base thats closer.
Some of the other episodes also enter the neighborhood.

They aren't really that isolated. Just retired, and their neighbors where most likely older, which is why you don't see them.
