semi serrated. whistle. fire striker. unknown tang situation.

10/10
>>
>>947539
why can't i easily find a sak with a saw, knife, can opener, heavy file, scissors, awl, and magnifying glass. I mean that's all I need.
>>
>>947544
Serration on a fixed blade is awful. Gerber makes fine knives but they are extremely overpriced now.
4/10
>>
>>947601
It's a 3/4 tang, it ends about half a cm above the hammer tang, i know because i broke mine.
>>
>>947864

Swisschamp is the only SAK I know that has a magnifying glass, it also has everything else you listed.

Is the sak saw actually useful? I hear people say it is for notching and cutting small pieces of wood but you can just notch with a knife and break small branches over your knee or with your foot. Is using a tiny saw actually better than this?
>>
>>947948
explorer also has a lens, check sakwiki to see if there is a tool for you
>>
>>948109
It can saw pretty big branches off.
It just takes alot...alot of time.
It works, slooooowly.

This knife has done me pretty damn well.
>>
>>948795

Yes, I have one. It is superior in every way. However, it is quite expensive and on the verge of being too tacticool.

If the BG knives are anything, they are not Tacticool. What makes something Tacticool is taking the attributes of what makes something "tactical" and just over doing it to an extreme and normally very poorly.

The BG's are very bright orange, and like Tacticool 101 is about everything being black.

>magnifying glass
Get a Silva Ranger along with your knife of choice. It has a clinometer, magnifying glass, ruler and signalling mirror.
>>
>>950995
is there a term for this kitchy REI color palette survival-ish kinda gear?

>>
>>951810
ugly but intelligent

i guess uglligent

>>948795
>alternative to the Gerber
yes, it's much more reliable and fulfills and need I could think of for an outdoors knife. they're pricey and but not Bark River expensive. overall an excellent knife. I have one.
>>
>>951810
Maybe Survalvalast.. like Survivalist bust with more autistic screeching.
>>
I have a Benchmade Nimravus from the Army, is this a good /out/ knife? I really don't want to buy a knife if I don't have to but it's pretty big.
>>
>>949323

The gimping on the tip, is it for control while while skinning?

How grippy is the gimping?

It looks practical AF.
>>
>>952308
Those are SICK (sexy) knives. I'd buy one but money is tight and it's not a priority.
