besides the hammock itself what else would i need and how much am i looking to spend? getting a ENO singlenest and i live in eastern NC
pic unrelated also
Just to set up you'll need - hammock, tree straps & whoopie slings. To sleep in it you'll need a sleeping bag & an under quilt or a sleeping pad.
I made my own tree straps and whoopie slings. The straps cost about $11 and the whoopie slings were free so don't know for you (a friend gave me a shit ton of amsteel blue).

I got a hammock for about $20 made from the same fabric parachutes are made of. It's extremely lightweight and has a cupholder that is the bag for the hammock as well. I can't really say anything about the durability but it's doing a great job so far.
Just look it up on amazon.

My current retarded setup is
shitty Hammock/bugnet combo $20
3x6m tarp $80 (the other tarp was to small)
Straps and various paracord for it all $20
Already got a sleeping bag from way back but its hot enough i may not need it. I could have shaved the tarp down to $30-$40 but i'm going out this weekend and couldn't wait for postage. If you have time to wait you can easily trim the price right down (~150AUD) though i expect that if I enjoy hammocking I'll buy an actual entry/half decent level one later.
