What do you wear to keep your legs warm yet mobile in icy terrain? I find the issue with snowpants is that they cause more falling due to restriction of movement. This is one time I envy the grillios with their shaved legs wearing leggings and tights and still be warm wearing jeans in -20C weather.
>inb4 just swim in 5 deg weather until your body's cells start generating more and more heat
I'm trying but it's taking a long time...

Undies and socks aren't that big of an issue. Especially since I can normally just toss glove inserts near my toes to keep my feet from freezing.
I'm just more wondering about pants and how to keep them less bulky but still warm.

My bf has super hairy legs but he wears men's thermals and even women's tights and he's said they don't bother him. He wears them under his work pants and normal jeans

Super hairy arms and legs is a big plus, though. Since you get a homogeneous distribution of hair. I have to worry about the occasional patchless or patches of hair that really fuck with my existence.
Honestly, I've just started wearing one of those -15 rated sweaters and putting a large parka over it. Then I wear a really thick pair of jeans which keep me warm enough since the trenchcoat blocks out wind from my legs.
Either that or one of those colombia heaed jackets that the airforce uses. Has heating for up to 4 hours.

Look into salopettes
Personally I am a pile pertex fan for cold, so I'd go for some Montane Extreme salopettes for example
I like the bib style because it helps with venting a lot (chimney effect) and it;s much more comfortable than trousers around the waist.

I have hairy legs plus thermal long johns. My legs rarely get cold even in frigid temperatures. My feet are my biggest problem. I need to layer the shit out of them, even on warm days my feet feel cold.
I usually wear normal socks then 3 layers of wool socks for my feet on cold cold days.
