I'm a fisherman and there are very few things I find more satisfying to me than the act of catching, killing, cleaning and eating some great food, especially when I can share it with my family.
This is some Yellowfin Bream that I caught and beer battered.
Trevally with lemon butter.

I didn't catch it but I killed and ate a chicken. Was pretty delicious. Other than that, I caught many fishes. It's true, food always tastes the best if you catch it yourself, it's even better when you eat it in nature.

I'm sorry anon.

I trapped a pizza. Field dressed it with my snek knoife. Rolled the bits up and baked at 450F for 12-14min.
>>945091
Knock it in the back of the skull, slit it from its asshole to its chin, pull on the bit from under the jawbone and everything will fall right out. Then slosh it around in a bit of water and push a stick into its mouth and under the spine all the way out the back of the tail. Prop the stick up over the fire. Once its done you can peel the skin right off, eat it right off the stick, and throw your only 'dish' right into the fire.
Why anyone would filet a fish is beyond me.
>>945174
So at what point do I batter it and dunk it in hot oil?
>>945166
Liar! Those are just pizza eggs! It's not a challenge to grab them right out of the nest, go catch yourself a full grown adult; they fight back!
>>945174
Fucking neato thanks anon.
Most freshwater panfish
Most saltwater fish found in the Northeast
Chipmunk ( once to test the taste )
Squirrel
Rabbit
Racoon
Beaver
Venison
Snapping turtle
Next on the list of things to try to eat are mink ( I trap them for pest control anyways may as well try it )
And otter if I can get my hands on one. Those fuckers

OP here, you don't need a filleting knife, although it can help sometimes. Most fish just kill it, bleed it, then stab its bumhole and cut up through to the gills, rip out all the gross shit, rinse and you should be good to cook.
>>945174 filleting/removing stomach linings, etc are vital for alot of fish that I catch as they will ruin the taste
>>945210 /b/ just called me and asked for you back, edgelord.
A craw fish.

Also this guy, didn't butcher it myself but I got to watch the guy on the dock slice it up, cheeks are the best meat he told me
>>945479
how do I go from dead rabbit to delicious meal?
>>945520
All it takes is a good evening, a sturdy knife, and a 30 rack of busch
I hang them on a board upside-down by their feet, slit their throat, and hack all their feet off. Then its just five cuts, one down each limb and one up the stomach. Peel off the skin, hack the haunches off with a machete, grill and eat. Northwoods seasoning is the bomb on rabbit
>>944733
Made great stew, loins, burgers, and sausage out of this doe
I got the heart from a moose I shot. The rest of the meat was sold to a butcher. The heart was salted and smoked.
I used to hunt but they wisely replaced the gravel pits and cornfields with a refugee center. At least the birds aren't getting shot anymore (since their home was paved over)
>>945532
you sound like a fuckin redneck I love it mate
gonna have to try it here in UK
>>945571
what country?
>>945571
Wait... so why are you not still there hunting refugees?
>>945091
Poke it in the pooper and cut to the mouth.

hi John Podesta
Pan fried with herbs and garlic salt. Tasty about 16 inch trout.
Caught and killed a blue fish. Brined it for 3 days and smoked it with hickory. It was like fish ham. Couldn't get enough.
>>946221
>blue fish
Why not just eat carp or sewage?
>>946283
I honestly used to share the same sentiment. The first time I tried to eat one, I left the blood strip in and cooked it like a white fish with no brining. Sewage probably tastes better in this case.
I admit, you probably could make shoe leather taste palatable with a long brine and smoke. But it works for blue fish. Doesn't just make it edible, it actually becomes really damn good.
>>946221
I've never found a very good way to prepare bluefish, I'll give this a shot anon.
>>945478
Nice haul. I've been trying to get a rabbit for ages but haven't come up on jack shit on numerous hunting trips to public land.
>>945174
If you're catching a bunch for later, do you kill them as you catch them or do them all at once when you get through. How do you keep them fresh until then?
