I did have some shit to do this afternoon, but I think I'm going to blow it off to go fishin. It's too nice outside and I have to go back to work tomorrow so I think fishin is going to be priority number one today.

What test-weight ratio do you use with your braided line?
>>
>>937463
Whatever is appropriate for the fishing I'm doing. What are you trying to go after?
>>
>>937463
I have 20lb braid spooled up on a spinning reel on a telescoping rod that I use as a general "do it all" travel solution for freshwater fishing. I've caught largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, channel and blue catfish, bluegill, and even a freshwater drum using that setup. Biggest fish I caught on it was a ~10lb catfish I think.

I use Texas rigged soft plastics and fish in heavy vegetation for bass a lot and the 20lb braid really shines there; I can really manhandle 2-4 lb bass and just winch them out of the weeds.

10lb-20lb is nice for lake fishing if you are doing panfish up to bass. Lots of people try and run 30lb+ because they were running 10lb-12lb mono and it is complete overkill.

Eh, maybe "manhandle" wasn't the right term there. It's not like I'm just yanking them in as hard as I can but with braid I don't have to be so careful of the fish getting tangled up in the weeds and snapping line. They're all gonna get turned into fillets anyway, I don't like letting food off the hook.

Tastes fine when it's breaded and deep fried. I normally fish for lmb out of private farm ponds where the fish are generally under 4lbs. The smaller bass taste better than larger, older bass.
>>
>>937467
>>937469
>>937479
Ratio in this case refers to Braided to Mono, with mono being the leader. Like 15lbs braided and 8lbs mono leader. Sorry, if I wasn't clear enough.

That's an odd break. Did it get into some underwater structure or was near the bottom?

You may actually be able to return it to the company and get a free replacement.
>>
>>937502
Oh, I gotcha. Well if I'm gonna use a mono leader on the end of my braid then it all depends on what I'm fishing for. Rainbow trout / crappie / panfish I'd use 4lb-6lb mono, for black bass I'd go with 8lb-10lb mono.
>>
>>937517
For me it is 50lbs braided 15lbs-25lbs mono for catfish then 15b/8m for bass and panfish. If there's lots of snagging and structure, I might swap out spools with 30b/15m. UL is 8b/4m.
>>
>>937517
If you're using a leader for trout and crappie, why not go fluorocarbon? That's what I use for all of my smaller fish leaders that are line shy.
>>
>>937522
>50lbs braided
>15lbs-25lbs mono

Why? I don't ever use a leader so I'm genuinely curious. What benefit does the 50# braid give you if you're just gonna put on 15# mono?
>>
>>937522
I don't see the point of using a mono leader for catfish. They're not line or tackle shy at all so there's no need to use a lighter test mono leader for them, you're just making your line weaker. My catfish rigs have 20lb-30lb mono main line with a 50lb mono shock leader at the end.

>>937524
I don't really have issues fishing for trout or crappie using clear mono leaders. I also don't want to learn new knots for tying fluoro.
>>
>>937525
>>937527
Braided is used for the backing and makes casting very easy without retarded line memory. I use the leader so it can stretch when playing/hooking fish. I can swap off the leader instead of swapping spools since I don't have that many extra spools.
>>
>>937531
That makes sense, but why not use 20-30# braid and get better distance + more line?

Just had a delivery to Dick's.

Had these on sale for $5 so why not
>>
>>937533
Because I have a weight system to stress test my lines. Mono does very well at not breaking anywhere in the test weight it is specified. It normally breaks within 1-2 pounds of what it is rated. However, braided line, between brands has a massive discrepancy between where it breaks and where it is rated. My current 50lbs braided line breaks at around 25-28lbs (no clue what the brand name is). Sometimes it breaks inside the knots and sometimes it breaks a few inches from the knot.

Also, for catfishing, you really don't need much distance when casting in the waterways around here and they don't run out line that much. Even the massive flatheads are more like big ass logs that lazily pull around.

>>937536
>Just had a delivery to Dick's.

Now I understand why you buy so many lures. You must be there for your job. I can't even imagine what you'd own if you actually worked in Dick's.

Elops saurus? The wood may simply have been compromised either in manufacturing or had improper grain alignment. It you didn't get it in structure where it was being levered (indicated by a slight bend in the wire that the split ring is attached to) then it is a problem from manufacturing and should be replaced.

>>937542
Check out the jig this guy uses:

http://www.leeroysramblings.com/strong_knots.htm

I was originally testing the same thing, knot strength. Specifically, clinch knots (mine never totally pull out before the line breaks.) Like in this before/after image from testing. Then I started noticing that the braided lines were not breaking near their rated weights.

Man my sleep schedule is fucked
> Work doing shit until 10 or so at night
>End up falling asleep at midnight-2am
> Don't wake up until 10-12 the next day

I'm wasting so much daylight and fishing time
>>
>>937546
You can really help get to sleep by timing your day's last snack/meal 4-5 hours before your intended bed time. Also no caffeine after noon.

5pm meal = 9pm - 10pm bed time
10pm meal = 2am - 3am bed time

So, if you are getting off work at 10pm and eating around that time, your brain won't want to shut down until 2-3am. You have to be relatively exhausted to get to sleep before that. Then you sleep about 8 hours. If you are sleeping 10-11 hours then your body is trying to make up for a week's worth of nights where you slept less than normal for you. It varies between people of course.
>>
>>937549
I'm used to eating late
I usually eat at 10 am, 4 pm and then 8-10 pm if I get the. Chance

IL try getting on a better eating schedule to fix my sleep

I also think if I have a few days where I wake up early in a row. And I do a bunch during the day IL get back used to falling asleep on time
>>
>>937553
I normally wake up at dawn and have my last meal at 5pm. However, if I've eaten sugary foods during in the daytime, I'll get some cravings after the last meal. When I worked at locations where I couldn't have regular meals, I would carry my food on my person and eat at my own scheduled time. That way I could keep a 7am, noon, and 5pm eating schedule despite retarded shift hours and job break schedules.

Then when the weekend comes along, I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed for being on the water in the early morning.
>>
>>937544
>Getting it replaced

>>937565

That stuff normally only works by chemically melting the PVC and forming it into a chemical bond, not just a physical bond.

3 different brands, but not "quality" name brands like Spiderwire or Power Pro. Though, I did order some Power Pro Spectra the other day. Once it gets here, I'll see how close to 15lbs it is.

>sleepy after eating

That usually happens with over eating or foods/food combinations high in tryptophan (milk, cheese, beef, poultry, pork, and beans). A big glass of milk, half a cup of black beans, and a hunk of meat can often times go far over even L-tryptophan supplement levels. Enough to make you really mellow and sleepy.

>>937586
That's cool then, but $15/each? Damn. Umbrellas are really old old tech. We used them in the 1980s before the internet made nearly all info available to anyone with a phone; before they were called, "Alabama rigs". The 1950s saw a shit load of weird ass lures that never became popular.

Cool post results. I think people said the knot was usually breaking before the line, but I could just be talking out of my ass.

>Enough to make you really mellow and sleepy.

Damn that's my favorite way to be. I'm sure it'll bite me in the ass later on and make me fat, but as it is right now I have to eat like ~3,500 calories a day to gain any meaningful weight.

I know Otisco lake has some monster musky and Ive heard a small lake near me called Panther lake does as well. Oneida lake is another one that has pike but they are hard to find. Ive also caught and seen some pretty big pike come out of the Salmon river in Pulaski near where is meets lake Ontario.

If I specifically want to target big pike though I go on trips deep into Quebec, that's the best pike fishing you can find anywhere

Dick's has good sales on them sometimes but they get picked through really quick and their selection is already limited. I would love it if Bass Pro did a $5 sale on the 3DB baits. There are a handful that I would like to get.

I do have to keep in mind the limited time I can actually run hard baits down here. Plus I literally have no more room for crankbaits between the 3700 and 3600 boxes full of them. I also haven't even used some of these. I bought 3 of the Crystal Minnows almost a year ago because they were supposed to be great and haven't even used them.

Idk, it's the same thing as panfish just bigger. You can't go wrong with a Size 10 Rapala (Original, Husky Jerk, X-Rap) or a Mepps Agila #4 if the bass are active and feeding. If they are a bit slower, a Texas-rigged Baby Brush Hog with a 3/0 EWG hook and a ~1/4oz bullet.

Regular spinnerbaits are good at dusk or early in the AM. If the water isn't too murky, go with something like Sexy Shad color or a natural with double gold willow blades. Chattermemes are straight too but I still reccommend those little 1/8oz ones.

Poppers are good if you can see the bass jumping on calm water at dawn or dusk. Frogs for weeds. And then for other crankbaits, I still like suspending jerkbaits the best and never did well with the fat diving traditional cranks. I like those Rapala Scatter Raps (7+ for LMB) or any good lipless crank (Rat-L-Traps, any of the Rapalas, those magical Sebiles, KVD Red-Eyes). Lipless cranks like a heavy Red Eye Shad or Rat-L-Trap are good for covering lots of water when it is a bit cooler like now.

I have a box of the yozuri pin minnow blanks they sold which swim same. theres been some shit on forums about the cb cranks not swimming true and having to trim flash and shit. so a tank test is needed for the cranks. you can always tune them and theyre cheap. I don't think so. I fish at stocked ponds all over. A lot of the parks around here stock their ponds with channel cats. I've caught some bruisers too.

My PB bass came from a stocked pond. I find no shame in the matter. I still had to catch him and get him to the bank.

I even keep those fish. My taxes are paying to put them in the city and county ponds, why not eat what I paid for?

Now, that's said, I won't go applying for citations from pond catches. Especially if the pond is on private property. The way I see it is that someone could have a "pet bass" and catch it over and over until it breaks a record or dies. I think that's cheating. It's all about intent, I suppose.

>>
>>938285
>>938226
alright if you niggers are willing to do some math il share some shit with you
Numbers and whit will varry and its not exace, but ive found it to be pretty close
also not sure if this applys for anyplace that doesnt use murican measurments

take the max temp for the day or a course of 24 hours ( the real max temp not projected max temp or that bullshit )
then take the minimum temp ( the real minimum temp, usually comes at 1 or 2 am and alot of websited etc dont record the real min temp

Now add that shit together
aight?
divide that number in half

got it?
now take 32 and subtract that number

Alright
>example
>max 37
>min 17
>added is 54
>divided by 2 is 27
>32-27=5

alright now that outcome is measured in freezing points
so for my example i had 5 freezing points for that given day

assuming a lake already has a thin sheet of ice all the way over it , and there are little other factors every time you reach 15 freezing points the pond will add an inch of ice to it
so in my example on that given day ( assuming there is little snow, some wind and little other factors (ex curent) the lake in that given area would have made a third an inch of ice

thsi doesnt work if the pond isnt already frozen over, has major curents , major warm springs etc
also once the ice is over 3 or so inches it takes more freezy points to build an inch of ice, though once you have three inches of good ice youre pretty safe anyways as long as you arent stupid
>>
I have a question what kind of rod help cast further a heavy or lighter rod.
>>
>>938292

Lighter line probably makes th biggest difference. If you are using a spinning reel, make sure the reel is full of line. If it is low on line, you will get less distance on your casts. And you have to match the rod and lure weight properly to get the best casting distance. Light rods kind of buckle undet heavy loads and heavy rods don't get the spring effect with light tackle.
>>
>>938308
>lighter line makes a bigger difference than a longer rod

>>938299
>>938307
>>938308
Thanks I have been using a med heavy 7 ft rod and I been only able to cast about 30 yards my line matches my reel I might just use more weight or a bigger reel.

I use this rod or multiple things like cat fishing and lure fishing so I'm trying to find a good in between.
>>
>>938311
I meant bigger lure
>>
>>938310
Depends what lengths you want to go to. Going from a 5' rod to a 7'6" rod will be better than going from 14lb to 12lb line. But going from 6' to 6'6" compared to dropping from 10lb mono to 8lb or 6lb (on a spinning reel especially), the line will probably give you a little more distance than the 6" extra length.

>>938311
Just switch to braid like a champ. What line are you using for catfish? 10lb? 12lb? You could switch to 15lb braid and have more strength while casting much further and have more line on the reel.
>>
>>938311

>>
>>938368
I just meant spinning or casting lol. But yeah your rod should have a recommended weight on there go by that. It might also tell you a line weight and you should go by that moreso than the capacity ratings on the reel.

You could probably go with lighter line too, but I used to use 12# mono on my spinning setup and i never felt like I needed more distance, but I was also using heavier lures.
>>
Going out tomorrow to a small lake with both a Brook flowing in and out of it

The lake itself has some bass in it. But it's hard to target due to limited shore access
>>
>>938374
Let's hope something is biting even if it's only creek chubs
>>
>>938368
Changing out the cheap mono for good mono will help.

What exactly are you targeting? That 50 size looks bretty big. Nice reel but that would def be like catfish or a pier rod if you do salt. Might want to think about a 20-30 size reel and put 6lb-8lb mono on there with a medium weight rod. That would be much better for bass and larger panfish. Otherwise a Size 10/1000 with 4lb mono for bluegill, crappie, trout, etc and lures <1/8oz.

You can run heavier lures on that 50 but heavier normally means larger so it will be difficult to get small fish. And if you try and run smaller lures and add weight, it will mess with the action of the bait.

>>938191
None of those Jawbone cranks really caught my eye but I always look at the hollow body frogs and spinnerbaits. They have a couple spinnerbait colors that look good but they are big and spinners are an easy thing to fuck up. FWIW I ran that Size 66 Sebile today and got a few hits on it, but I think I prefer the Size 50. When I get more, I will probably get mostly 50s.

I think with the odd hook setup, the smaller one is actually better because bass can grab the whole thing really quick and the hook has a better chance of grabbing part of the lip. This lake does have a lot of 12"-14" bass tho so maybe the 66mm would be better with more 16"+ fish around. That smaller 50 has landed me some larger ones just fine tho.

That 66 Extra Heavy is nice to throw on the memecaster and cover some water.

Anyone got any real-life experience with the Intex Challenger K1 for fishing?
Looks decent especially considering the price. I'm mostly concerned about it being stable (as in not tipping over - not talking about wild waters) and how comfy it is when fishing concerning how low one sits in it...
No room for storage, means of transportation or money to buy something 'proper'. Not to mention I would hate myself for spending a fuckton of cash if it turns out I don't enjoy kayaking at all.

How do I increase my hook up rate?

Fishing for pike using 4-8" swim baits.
The pike love these lures, and I had 6 takes over an hour. But I didn't hook up on any of them.
It was like the pike were not really interested and were only nipping at the lures instead of nailing them.

What do?

on the cheap they work. i know someone with one and they are happy with the fun to cost ratio. he tricked his out to fish. glue on rod holders ect..added drybag for deck storage. take the pillow butt pad out and put a strip of outdoor carpet inside. A short piece of luan (waterproof and cover the edges with tape) will stiffen the kayak significantly.

What type of hook and hook placement are you using? That is the biggest factor. The next thing is rod weight and how much mono you are using, if any. Braided won't stretch and it will allow near instant hook set, but has a chance to break. Full mono will have less of a chance of breaking due to massive stretch. Braided with mono leader gives you more hook power more instantly yet enough stretch to take a good fight without breaking.

Most of the takes were with a Savage Gear 4play (pic related)
The lure is 7.5", ~50g with #1 hooks

The rod is 7' (10-40g casting weight) and fitted with a 2500 series fixed spool reel loaded with 80lb whiplash braid and an 18'' 60lb wire trace as the leader.

I probably need a stiffer rod?
>>
>>938829
>mono leader for pike

but yeah the placement is very important. pike usually attack their prey from below and the also usually try to aim for the first third of their prey. i.e. in the vicinity of the gills
>>
>>938844
yes. for pike i'd go no less than a 60g casting weight rod. some people go up to 100g or higher but that really depends on what you're fishing and where you're fishing.
with that lure im guessing a 60-70g rod should be fine.

Yes, but you'd also be using a standard steel leader right where the lure is tied if you are using low test mono. I just use 50lbs mono.

Everything seems fine except the lure hooks. They seem a bit small for the lure. Try 2/0 hooks instead.

all is forgiven. i really doubt upgrading to even thicker hooks with an already underpowered rod is going to help with the hook up ratio tho.

Why do all you freshwater fags use big ass swimbaits and lures? I only salt and mostly use a 3inch soft plastic (sometimes 5inch jerk shad or swimmer) and catch bigger fish than the dinks everyone here catches

The lure is blocking access to the smaller hooks. Use 1 larger hook up front so there is better chance of it actually hooking instead of fouling against the lure body.
>>
>>938856
i tend to got at least 30lbs for a dedicated pike setup. and you absolutely have to use a steel or titanium leader for pike. especially if you're using braid
>>
>>938854
Big swimbaits are to be used after storms when fish are more lazy. They are very realistic looking and you swim them slowly. Fish come right up to them and stare at them sometimes before deciding to bite. Othertimes, you can use flashy noisy fast baits that trigger hard knee-jerk strikes.
>>
>>938856
If you have a really long 3 hook jerkbait sure. I catch them all the time on bass setups by accident but if I was targeting them I would use a leader. If they are skiddish you just have to accept they might break you off and use a clear leader like fluorocarbon or mono
>>
>>938860
yes that is true, however the chance of getting an even thicker hook set into a hard pike mouth will be lower.
if he is using a heavier rod then there shouldnt be a problem with thicker hooks.

>>938859
yeah go try that. i dont like long and heavy rods myself either. but it'll do for the day i guess and you can always get something shorter/lighter if you succeed with it.

Idk, I like my black Carbonlite better than the Vendetta. The Veracity feels closer to the Carbonlite with a little bit better action on the tip.

>>938743
I have the black one. They used to be $120 or $130 and I bought it as they were clearing them out to bring in the new $99 white ones. I think I only paid $80 for it and that was a steal because that is a really good quality blank.

Haven't really played with the white ones. I still think they are trying to get rid of those Bionics eventually and have the white Carbonlite be the $80-$100 rod because they came out with that Johnny Morris Titanium 8 at $140 (reel is $140 too, combo like ~$250) which is between the JM Carbonlite and JM Signature(?) as far as that line goes.

They had that JM Titanium combo on sale with Black Friday and it looked really nice. I think it was only $20 off or some shit. That new JM USA made rod looks dank too. I'm guessing that combo competes with some real high end Shimano or Abu stuff.

Idk about spending that money on a Bass Pro reel tho. Reason why I like Abu and other major brands is because they have been building this stuff forever and will be around. So if my $40 Abu reel or $160 Abu reel breaks in 5 years, I know I can still get replacement parts if I want to.

I may have been overlooking this as a noob; how important is it to feel very subtle bites in cold water?
Are they obvious or do I need super tight line to feel them?
Ive noticed ive only caught fish during my retrievals when jigging tubes around, i guess i never feel the bites but rather that fact that the fish is already on.
Lately ive been trying to leave them on the bottom for longer as well as pick them up slowly. Most of the time I do keep the line tight however.

Is this my problem or is there simply no fish biting?

Yup, life jacket is a must whenever you go out on the waters. I will most likely only be using it in the nearby fjord and canal leading from fjord to harbour. Canal approximately 50m wide, fjord depth for the vast majority below 2m (still plenty to drown in if shit hits the fan). So not _that_ worried about the potential dangers. Main concern with my nearby waters is getting pissed off over getting soaked. And ofc. never underestimate the effect of cooling in water which is also a real danger.
>>938826
Yeah, as stated, I know they are not the best. I just want something decent to get me out on the water without spending a fortune.

I was looking at those today. That is definitely a good price, they remind me of my old Abu Cardinal SX rod. I would almost bet they are the same blanks because the rods said "24 Ton" on them which was the same as that Abu.

Those rods (if you do a M) are great for 1/8oz-1/4oz baits. They aren't real fast but the blanks are nice and sensitive. I can't believe the price on them though, I really should've grabbed one for a UL setup.

Now. I would feel fine to go do shit, but it's going to be dark until 7 ish anyways and I find myself falling back asleep anyways

What the fuck

>>
>>939424
I'm staying up this morning (from 4 am basically )
So I should be fucking exhausted tonight and hopefully fall asleep earlier
>>
>>939429
Just set rules for yourself man. Also no computer and phone after 7:30pm will knock you out. I often turn on the lights off an hour before bed and just sit with candle light for an hour and thumb through hunting books and then go to bed.
>>
>>939431
Can't read before bed otherwise I won't sleep,. Have to listen to music on phone
I'm just not sure why I shoot awake at 4-5 am
Anyways let's hope fish bite today
>>
>>939431
Off the lights not on*
>>
>>939432
I had alarms set to get out there at sunrise but slept thru them. My body somehow knows it is Sat and I don't have to be at work by 6am.
>>
>>939445
didnt even try to get out for sunrise, water too cold, nothing will be biting til it warms up a little bit

now im just stuck deciding if i bring one rod o two
>>
>>939394
>>939429
It takes like 2 weeks for the body to adjust to a new schedule or new environment.
>>
>>939446
I normally catfish until there's enough light to use dark and/or noisy lures. Once there's lots of light I switch to normal lures.
>>
>>939449
even in the winter?
i never have dick for luck in the winter ( not icefishing) until the sun has warmed up and i fish the shallows
>>
>>939450
Well, catfish use scent and lateral lines a great deal and don't need light. That's why night time catfishing is so popular. As for regular fishing, that really depends on things like water depth and species. But, yeah, shallow waters are normally daylight areas for fishing non-catfish.
>>
should i bother bringing a second rod today and throwing out a line with some super old squid on it in hopes of catfish?

Freshwater or saltwater?

Regardless, my philosophy is to have as many rods as is legal, but only have as many in the water as I can control. So, I'll have some live bait/cut bait ones set out while I thresh around with lures on another. Sometimes, catfish or whatever are too active for me to leave the baited rods. Where I fish, there's no limit to the number of rods in the water. I may have 7+ rods in the water at once and 2+ might have bits at any one time.

Normally, as soon as I have my creel limit for the target fish I'll go home. If I have a cooler with ice, I may stay and target species that don't have creel limits in order to fill my freezer.

fresh,
i dont think theres a huge population of catfish in this lake anyways desu

About to go ice fishing for the first time. There happens to be an ice derby about 40 minutes away from me, I wasn't gonna participate in the derby but fish alongside them.
Any tips?

Do you have sonar?

>>939553
That would be odd. If they've ever been stocked and it is a lake then there should be tons of them. I target channel cats so I chum and use 12-hour old smelly cut bait. If they don't bite in about 20mins I move to a new spot until I find them.

Only 2 dozen or so lakes get them

Pom-pom worms use, "Hair elastic." Mine are Scunci brand (no damage) hair elastics. They come in many colors. They are also used in >>939552 & >>939039 & >>938830

I just got some scrap 50lbs mono line to make them weedless. Seems the single strand might work better for hooking fish than the loop in >>939564 Use lead wire to add weight if you need it.

God fucking damn it, at least I got a jack. Anyone here use keitech's? I'm really loving the action of this thing.

>keitech easy shiner

i use both the swing impact and shiner swimbaits. I like that the impact holds scent and moves more water than the shiner. the shiners work well in clearer water but for dirty water i prefer the impact fat version or big hammer swimbaits which actually have a lot more thump.

The feathers are the plumulaceous portion of left over rooster tail feathers from other things (like chicken marabou/chickabou); like for making dressed trebles.

What do you guys do when people start swimming where you fish?
If you try to say you are fishing, they seem to think you are worried about them being hooked. I'm not, I'm worried they will scare fish away.
I keep casting towards them and hope they get hooked.

Where I'm from. If they're swimming
Chances are they're from out of state, their vehicles aren't registered and if I call the town they'll send some cops and a towtruck

I thought the same thing when I was looking at it. It's like those laquer tables with beer caps you see at frats and bars. It would be cool to do it with old soft plastics too.
>>
>>939746
Find better fishing spot. Although you bought your right to fish with a license, I'd say you still have to share the water.

By the time you get the police to enforce and get them to swim elsewhere, u could have reeled in fish in another spot.

You can also try shouting "I wouldn't swim in these waters, the fish I'm fishing for are monsters!"
>>
>>939772
Why spend money on a table made of fishing tackle you could be using instead?
>>
>>939778
I could use the big bag of used soft plastics instead of mailing them to Skid so he can mold them into a salty dragon dildo.

Damn that's nice in that pic

Just picked up doges and it's going to be dark by 6pm. Lame. Idk, might throw some catfish stuff for shits and giggles while casting bass lures. Only problem is I would prefer to drive somewhere down south or west and it will be dark by the time I get there.

Also thinkin about grabbing a dozen nightcrawlers but that also takes time which could subtract from sunlight fishin...

And I really don't want to go to Walmart for a dozen worms on a Saturday afternoon.

No license required where I live, I don't mind them swimming a few meters next to us or anything. it's the morons that swim on top of our lines, when there is the whole beach to swim in that piss me off.

>UK Carp anglers
WTF guys?

Went to a Reservoir today as I heard it had at least one 30lb pike.
No idea about the pike as I didn't catch anything, but it was full of serious business carp anglers. These guys are on another level, do you yankies have anything like this?
Every one of these cunts had 3 matching rod and reels ll set up on a stainless steel bi-pod with electric bite indicators AND a forth or fifth rod a marker or spod rod. All sitting on 'special' branded fishing chairs or in bivvys (basically a shit tent). They carry so much shit that every fucking one of them had a wheel barrow to carry their gear. But not just any wheel barrow, a special carp fishing wheel barrows. One cunt even had an electric motor on his wheel barrow so he didn't have to push it.

>pic related
its what all these guys looked like.
>>
>>939829
Sounds terrible, I hate having to pack/unpack shit when going fishing, do they just try to show off how much they own or something? I prefer to just walk to the beach with a tackle bag, bucket and two rods, one for bait and the other for lures.
>>
>>939829
It's a huge sport there. They fight way harder than meme fish like bass.
