Cold: although I like the idea of face warmth, ive never worn any sort of face cover that doesnt itch my face. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.
So besides face, ushankas are good for head warmth. Nice that you can customize if you want the side warmth or not.

For sun: light field hats although I always look a bit goofy in them

You may be able to get some of the stuff in the felt out of it so that it absorbs more moisture. But on the flip-side it won't be as good in the rain.

I had a fur felt hat once and can confirm sweat all day. I guess it's less of a problem in desert air?

Picked the hat up at a farmer's market in Tucson a couple years ago. Made from palm so it's fairly waterproof; I once spilled an entire beer on it and just shook it off with no soaking present. It used to have a belt around the head, but it was pretty cheap and broke after a short while.

My friend found the feather while hiking in the White Mountains. A hawk flew over and a single feather drifted down to him, then he gave it to me.

I've been on a lot of adventures with my hat, it's never let me down.
>>
>>944164

This is not a picture of THE hat but its the one they have on the sight I bought it on.
While walking around, I noticed myself repositioning my hat often. Sometimes wearing it backwards, id look up and my normal ball cap would touch my back and misalign and I really started to hate it, so I bought myself a cap with a short bill and four years later I love this cap.

found one of these for $3 brand new at savers, put it on just to laugh at what a tool i'd look like in it, and was annoyed to find how fucking comfy it was. still not worth $30 retail, but for 90% off i couldn't say no.

They're handmade and have two year loss insurance and an unconditional lifetime warranty.
>>
>>953007
It looks good, it feels good, they come in hat sizes, they are extremely functional and well made and like the other guy said they are guaranteed forever.

So you are paying $80 plus about $1 more per year amortized shipping cost (it will wear out in 7-10 years of heavy use) for a lifetime hat of that style

I wear something similar when it's cool and sunny. Beanie when it's cool and cloudy.

>>953459
This is my favorite when it's hot, sunny, and I don't care what I look like. Dressy situation might demand a proper panama.

Magee flat cap

Wool, folds up small enough to fit into pocket, lasts a lifetime, looks good with a tweed suit and a monocle
