Saying "I want a duel [sic] sport" is like saying "i want a truck". El Camino? Ranger? Half-ton? 1-ton? Flatbed?
So ... What do you want to do with said dual sport?
Something dirt-friendly, but still street-legal for connecting trails?
Bigger more street-friendly bike?
Long-distance, round-the-world adventure bike?

Any moto experience? Dirt or street?

I strongly recommend getting something dirt-friendly, depending on your state you may even want to consider a "dirt bike" then getting it plated.
Learn in the dirt, where you don't have traffic, fucktards catching pokemon, soccer moms putting on makeup, or yuppies reading their morning paper in the cars next to you.
Dirt also forces you to learn how to handle the bike in less-than-ideal traction conditions... when you hit the street, a little patch of gravel isn't going to throw you on your ass because reacting to your rear tire washing out should be second nature by then.

Wear your fucking gear. Get this, even a basic setup (jacket (shoulder/elbow/back protection), helmet, gloves, boots, knee protection... and wear it when you ride. You're going to crash.
