I'm sure we've all gotten this kinda shit as gifts, does anyone actually use anything like this? I ended up with this one and it's like, ridiculously heavy for what it does.
>>
Why do people even bother? If it doesn't have Leatherman stamped on the side, you don't need it.
>>
>>934805
What's a matter op, don't wanna eat with the same tool you tighten greasy bolts with?

Who is even tightening bolts innawoods? Shit, I bike to the woods and have no use for this. Let alone the savagery of clipping your utensils to the outside of your pack.
>>
>>934819

I used to carry a titanium spork, but it's so shit to carry after its dirty and you cant clean it I just drink from recipients or stab food with a stick

Knife is the only thing one needs
>>
>>934820

I do the same. I even get away with eating rice and beans with makeshifts spoons (like a big stick cut straight at the end).
>>

To think they discontinued the amazing Sampson's KISS and then proceded to make this crap. CRKT can go suck a toad.
>>
>>934853

CRKT historically discontinues popular items happily.

They also have different manufacturing plants spitting out much different quality items.

The saving grace is their items are priced reasonably if you buy a Taiwan produced item. Their china plant can suck a shit... they should close it down.

I originally wanted to get in on that, but as soon as I saw the "Amazon Wishlist" bullshit I dipped the fuck out. That was a terrible setup mainly because of what happened to you and the other anon, but also because Secret Santa gifts are supposed to be a suprise and not "buy me this even though I'm a poorfag and not spending money on anybody else".

We had 7 people in the fishing Secret Santa and it worked out really well because we did it the right way.

That tool is autism right of the charts. Too thick plastic handle, short detachable flimsy spoon and fork, wont detach in half for easier cutting. I got this one instead and I liked it so much I got another one for my GF
>>
>>934805
My girlfriends mom got my pick related for christmas last year. It's pretty much a tube that turns into a grill.

By far the worst piece of equipment I've ever used. A pain in the ass to set up correctly (takes about 15-30 minutes), not enough room to have a fire under it but not close enough to the ground to really cook with the embers. Extremely flimsy, totally useless weight at 560g, I hated using this meme. 0/10 would not recommend this or anything similar. Just use a rock.

>1" section of a hacksaw blade
>>
someone gave me this 2 christmases ago
features:
>532g (with the batteries)
>tactical olive drab
>decent flashlight
>can/bottle opener
>bit driver with flat/phillips/star bits
>flimsy pliers
>SAK knockoff blade
>corkscrew
>compass that is always off because of close proximity to ferrous metal
i feel bad for not liking it. The person who bought it for me obviously thought "anon would love this for outdoorsy stuff" but my watch already has a compass and i EDC a leatherman and flashlight. i think i told her some story about how it helped me on a hike once
>>
>>942574
anybody else find it remarkable that anon's name actually is "anon"?

also one thing (pretty much the only thing) i learned from my dad is to keep all that stuff. he was a mechanic so his old aunts etc were always giving him absolute shite k-mart tool kits and stuff. it's never going to be your trusted tool, but it ends-up being useful for a million non-critical jobs and activities over the years.
>>
>>942563
>BoB or Camping/Hiking
As a dedicated cutter it's obviously pants on head retarded for these roles. (Folding/blade profile, edge, thickness, ect)

The other tools aren't very useful because you're not at home/work/urban environment where the tools are most useful.

>EDC
Don't see the problem here. Most people can get away with the cutting ability of a utility blade for EDC so any blade from a decent multitool is going to more than sufficient.

The usefulness of the other tools obviously depends on your lifestyle or occupation. If you frequently use tools in general they can be useful because they may not be perfect but they can be good enough to get a job done without having to retrieve the right tools for the job. In this sense they are a time saver and can save quite a bit of time depending on your profession or hobbies.

If you don't find yourself using tools that often multitools will certainly be not be worth the price/bulk/weight.
>>
>>942576
I EDC a better version of everything that does except the bit driver and corkscrew
it's sat in my closet since that christmas until i dug it out for this thread

What particular mental disability causes you to masochistically go out of your way to appear completely ignorant to the world around you for the sole purpose of getting the negative attention of complete strangers over the internet? And what caused this desire to be berated? One can only speculate that frequent molestation and physical violence from your sole rolemodel would cause this reaction.

While I am curious, I don't actually care. No one actually cares, and no one ever will care about someone who can only get gratification from masochism.

>>950575
I agree. But you know, microwaves are shitty. If you just throw the whole thing in for 3min, the sauce on the outside is burning hot and the pasta gets all dry, and the middle of the dish is barely even warm. So I nuke for 1:30, stir, and put it in for another 1:30.

Unfortunately after that stir, I'm always challenged as to where I put that saucy fork for the next 90 seconds. I aint tryin to just hold it. If I leave it in the dish, the microwave doesn't like it. If I set it in the sink, there's likely to be a dirty dish in there and I don't want it touching that shit. So I set it on the counter and sauce ends up errywhere. It's terrible.

The custom knife world devolved into this sort of idiocy several years ago, which is one of the reasons I can't stand most of the people involved in it.
