What are your favorite types of nature aesthetically speaking?
I'm a big fan of shit like pic related, where it's a bunch of exposed rock, with some Moss and grass , with small trees and shrubs everywhere.
>>933055
Lots of hills, rocks, streams and hardwood forests. The dissected plateau of the Ozarks region is a prime example.
dense fir tree forests.
this is one of my favourite campsites, the tree's branches were hanging really low and hid our tent from anyone, which was useful as we were in Germany, where wild camping is illegal.
>>933593
holy bollocks, no idea why that photo is so small, sorry about that
here's a similar photo of what my favourite outing spots should look like, this one is somewhere in the Tatra mountains
>>933593
does germany outlaw everything that's fun?
>>933055
How about this OP?
>>933055
Caves.
Lots of colored rock
Tarns filled with Kool-aid water
Not too many trees, forests are boring.
>>933055
That, OP, is something we're fairly short of in my part of the UK, and now I think of it, all the parts i've seen too. I wish we had some of that.
We either have trees and no rocky mountain, or rocky mountain and no trees. What little areas of tree and mountain i've found have been forestry plantations, with rows of identical trees. The best I've ever found is on the top edge of one such plantation, where the land gets too steep to log, and a glorious pocket of old tree land clings to the side of the mountain.
OP i envy your tree/rock/grass combo.
>>933055
I agree with you OP
Now my favourite bit is the rocks because I'm a geologist (admittedly still a student), but I liked it before I started my course. I think it's because I didn't see that sort of thing at all where I grew up, it was all rolling hills and forests
Pic related is my favourite photo from near Loch Assynt in northern Scotland
Streams and lakes, probably explains why I got into fishing.
Specifically streas that are working around mountains, like gorges.
>>934641
I live in New Hampshire, which is where I took that picture. Pretty much all the mountains start to get like that at the top. It's awesome
>>933611
last time I was in Germany (as in last summer) we couldn't find any bars open after 10pm. I mean, it's Germany ffs, you know?
never been more disappointed in a country before.
Czech Republic is amazing though, especially if you go to little villages where nobody speaks English and get drunk with the locals.
>pic related, it's fir trees near the village of Černovice
>>934843
no bar open after 10pm? thats hard to believe.
wehere in germany did you stay?
>>934844
Probably some small town. Definitely not what anyone here would consider normal...
>>933611
I mentioned it in some threads before, Germany is about half as big as Texas, but has 80 million inhabitants. It's one of the most densely populated countries in Europe.
It may suck, but could you imagine how all these /out-areas would look if that many people would crowd that little area? Additionally, many areas are in private ownership, with the owners living nearby (again, it's a small country). The state also owns a lot of ground but mostly prohibits camping because these areas are either in use or used as retreats for animals which are often hard pressed for habitats if they aren't able to adapt to e.g. agriculture.
Really wild areas are few and far between and mostly national parks so they stay that way.
So yeah, kinda sucks, but I don't see that much room for improvement.
>>934766
I got ya again OP, here's an oldie. Really shows you how much it has grown in.
>>934629
Mount Monadnock, New Hampshire, USA. Potentially the most hiked mountain in North America.
>>933823
Here's another of Monadnock.
>>934949
Ops, meant to reply to >>934629
Here's some whites for>>934770
Deserts/semi-arid nature like Zion national park.
>>934657
where's that?
>>933055
Go try and survive in any of those lonely, desolate, god-forsaken places and you won't think they're so beautiful. Unless you take all your gadgets that turns the wilderness into your home, you're lost and going crazy.
>>934947
Haha that's where I took the OP picture actually.
I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, so my favorite /out/ aesthetic is anywhere with grass. and without pedophiles.
Glaciers. Being on or near a glacier is always awe inspiring. The sound of a serac fall is one of my favorite things ever.
>>935006
the fuck is your problem?
Also, montane (practically enveloping everything described itt) a best
>>935006
>don't go outside it's dangerous and you'll die
>>>/in/
>>935032
I know anon, that's why I posted a picture of the same place :)
This isn't an opinion I've seen very often here, but I love the ocean. It's incredibly hard to find something even remotely not over-populated, but those brief moments of isolation are perfect. (To be fair though, I grew up on an island so I'll always have a soft spot for the ocean.)

Coastal Shrub
>>935168
Coastal Shrub is comfy confirm
>>935004
About 40km north and a lil bit east of Ullapool, Scotland
That photo specifically was taken at 58.218399, -4.987210 (from google maps anyway) facing northeast, if you have a desire to visit that specific location. There's a really nice waterfall and gorge just to the southwest, and you can see a really nice clear fault running NW-SE from the top of the hill it's near. Pic related is a panorama of the view from the top of the hill
Unless you meant the place where I grew up, in which case I was speaking of the Chiltern Hills
>>933055
I love mountain forests and lakes, I have family in Freiburg and I love being in the black forest.
Also, I love mist and frost, I woke up this morning to find this outside my room.
>>936585
>room
Ain't /out/, kid.
>>936643
the black forest is, and it's not as if I don't go out for a walk in the mists after I woke up and saw them
subtropical rainforest, but especially when it's reclaiming and intertwining with neglected civilization

Yo, New Ipswich here.

I love me some jagged blobs o' green
birch groves

Is that the view from your house? That's awesome
I like alpine stuff the most but i don't have any pics of that right now so here's a nice shot i took from the central coast of new south wales, australia.
Norwegian nature...

Chilterns representing, first time I've seen pretty much anyone anywhere from here
>>934641
UK forester here.
>too steep to log
Literally no such thing. Give us time :^)
>>933055
Antelope Canyon is pretty awesome visually. It's a shame that I couldn't survive in that environment, I'm really only familiar with conifer forests.
