Yes. Most professional mountain guides I've met in the US wear more Patagonia though, probably because it's more affordable. The brand I've never seen them wear is North Face.

Huh? It's about 3/4 the price of dead-bird, but the quality has gone to shit since ~2003.
REI(and MEC in Canada) are probably the best value, but if money is no worry, arcteryx is probably the best option. The problem with arcteryx is their low and mid range stuff isn't anything special, and carry a huge premium. Their $180 midlayer hoddie is worse than the $130 midlayer hoodie I bought from north face. The arcteryx uses fancier materials, but the actual end result from north face is better and the build quality is significantly better...
