How is the outdoor life in Phoenix, AZ?

This time of year is Prime Time of year!
For almost twenty years I lived all over central Arizona in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Glendale and Peoria. And I fucking hated it.
Winter is actually really nice there but the rest of the year, to me at least, is Hell. But then again I love the cold and despise the heat so Arizona just isn't the best place for a guy like me. YMMV.
One good thing about AZ is the gun laws are really lax and you can also just drive a little bit into the desert in any direction outside of town, set up some targets, and just shoot shit. No need to fuck around at a shooting range.
If I see Pronghorn on the way home tonight, I will stop for pic.
So pretty good /out/.

Nope. Not tonight, but often.
Still a nice ride, about 25-30 minutes.
But I'm not in Mordor.

Flagstaff my dude

Yes.

I mean the job market in PHX is obviously better, but from a purely /out/ standpoint, Flagstaff is as good as AZ gets
Like pic related, evedy morning and night.

Can't speak for pheonix, but the Sedona-Flagstaff-Grand Canyon corridor is prime /out/ country.
Yuma is pretty good if you like bare mountains and following big horned sheep.

Flagstaff is lame. Good hiking, climbing and shit but it's full of idiots and people from Phoenix on the weekends. People in Flagstaff are the worst drivers too.

Oh God.
Milton is tight and a choke point because of the NAU.
That's about it. Get ANYWHERE else and you're fine.
McMillan Mesa is beautious! EVERY part of the AZT is awesome there.
Hike every spring on the map in one summer and you will become the Coconino King!

Basically the entire Mollgion Rim, if not the entire Colorado Plateau.

Light snow today. Beautiful /out/ up north!

And another two separate herds, one of 6 & one of 4, a young buck herd.
I love AZ.
