>>

>>
>>921940
I can see alnost every constellation from inside 610 in houston.

I go to brazos bend just about monthly. so i regularly use 33 inch disks, nigger.

I have been to the god damned catholic telescope. I love the sky.
>>
>>921940
I live in England.
So basically no, no matter where I go, the answer is no.
>>
>>921940
shores of superior in the UP. Feels like i can see everything
>>
>>921940
Kinda. Despite living in an urban area, I'm right by the ocean so the sky is actually kinda dark to the east. Also in this area, it's a strip of civilization that runs N-S and only about 15mi wide. Ocean on the east and miles and miles of swamp to the west so the light pollution isn't as bad as you would expect.

It was much, much worse when I lived right outside of Chicago. You couldn't see shit there aside from Orion in the winter (if there wasn't snow on the ground). Driving from downstate IL up 57 to Chicago at night, you start to see the giant orange mass in the sky 100mi+ out and it is slightly disgusting.

CO in the mountains is nice at night. But I think the first time I really appreciated the night sky was about 4 years ago when I was moving down to FL and my 26' Penske truck broke down at 3am on the FL Turnpike somewhere east of Orlando in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I had been driving for 24hrs at that point and never knew you could actually see the Milky Way with the naked eye until that night/morning.

It's raining.
>>

Snowfall up here in Canada so no.
>>
>>921940
Not really, but if you drive 50 or so miles away. Yes
>>
>>921940
Snowing at the moment. So no. In a few days when it gets cold again yes.

Metrowest MA here, life is suffering.
That being said if I drive out to this one public farm field in Sudbury MA, I can faintly see the milky way. I took this mediocre picture of it with a 25 second exposure at f/4.

Luckily I'm moving to Vermont soon so I'll have stars for days.

if you look off to the right, you can see a very faint spiral arm in that photo, and it moved across the sky as the night went on

I know what I'm talking about buddy, I took this one as well, but I was camping in Southern UT at the time
>>
>>922193

Yes, not a city/suburb cuck.
>>

Jesus what the fuck is going on in Australia
>>
>>922412
Kek. This is pretty damn close.

>>922449
I beg to differ, at least where I am. Looking east over the ocean, it isn't too bad. But that's only because it was terrible where I lived before.

>>922528
This is true as well.
>>
>>921953
Look up dark sky areas UK

If it's not pissing down you may get lucky
>>
>>922533
There is a lot of light pollution around here. I am from Hialeah.

I'm sure it's much worse because you are right smack in the middle of industrial areas and Cubans. Makes a big difference if you are right on the coast or on the edge of the swamp. The Keys too, it gets dark out there. You don't have to go far to see some stars.
>>
>>922541
Yea agreed. Fort Myers and shit can also get pretty dark.

The keys do get dark. Especially if you are out on the boat at night.

where do the cuban boats usually land, in the keys?
>>
>>921940
Nope.
Maybe it's a good thing because I feel massive existential dread every time I watch them.

Probably. There are so many little islands with nothing on them.

I wonder if they arrange for somebody to meet them before they really land. Recreational boat traffic is heavy all around The Keys and South Florida so I'm assuming a raft would be easily spotted before it actually hit land. If they come at night, there are tons and tons of islands around the Keys where they could land but there is only one road going to the mainland so they would probably need somebody to meet them.

I should just ask some Cubans how they did it.

Pic related was from Monday. Cuba is like 100mi out in that pic.
>>
>>921940
The Netherlands, so no.
>>
>>922608
Yea they usually land in the keys. >>922616
Like Pepsi said though there are hundreds of tiny little Islands.

Once the Cubans touch US soil they are allowed to stay, if they are caught on water then they are sent back.

I've noticed I can see more stars. I think the ambient light has been reduced since the airport possibly switched to LEDs.

Kek was wondering what that was

Yep. Can see starts from home.

Most I've ever seen was sleeping out on a tarp in central Australia.

Some if I go on my walk at/after 8pm. Just outside the tourist area of my town. Not a big city but not quite the suburbs. No street lights for a good 20 minutes of the walk, which is nice when the moon is out and you can see, but kinda spooky when it's cloudy, and since it's Florida it's cloudy very often.
