keep up the good work anon
Raccoons, oddly enough. My coworker thinks it's because we see them so often in urban environments that it becomes refreshing to observe them in the wild, actions and instincts uninhibited.

One time I was following this river and a heron (Great Blue) was on the bank. I startled it and it let out this funny blood curdling scream "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH". I swear if I had heard it at a distance I would have thought someone was being murdered.
>>922156
yeah they're pretty horrifying
>>922159
I just thought it was funny. It scared the shit out of me then I'm thinking why do they even make that noise. It just seems so unnatural. You'd think it would honk or something. Even when they're not scared they make that barking sound.

Envious. One of my favorite birds and they don't fuck with Wisconsin much.
not too many of them, but I saw a couple of blacks...er...um...climbing around on some trees and rocks the other day, really neat

I think Foxes are pretty cool saw one crossing the road once while driving to a campsite. Just cool to see them knowing how they are with people.

Foxes are awesome, saw a beautiful pair of them prancing in the snow during a blizzard last month. It was strange because I was biking around in a busy Minneapolis suburb, very heavily populated but plenty of green space for the foxes I guess.
My favorite animals to spot in the wild are otters. They are so goofy and fun to watch. Just saw one in the Minnesota River valley a few days ago.

Not sure if you're talking about nigs or bears?
Mountain goats, coyotes and mountain lions/cats.
>>921746

oakland?

Otters may be the most adorable creatures you can possibly spot in the wild
Kayaking in beaver pond. From afar I see some brown shit pushing some brown shit and generally splashing around. Get closer and realize it's three otters just having fun. they spot me and dive. About 10 minutes later I'm passing by one of the beaver loges. The otters are snuggled up on top of each other in the sun. They notice me and bonk heads as they flee for the water. I laughed so hard I cried.
Dippers

Where was this picture taken? It's beautiful.

woodpeckers. I often hear them, but don't always see them, so it's fun when I do.
>>922156
I've told this story here before, but when I was a kid I came across a group of about 10 herons all standing in a circle looking towards the center.
Like it was some heron meeting or ritual.
I've tried to look it up to see if it's a thing they do but have never found anything about it.
>>921746
turkey vultures

>>927584
They weren't making any noise or eating anything. Just standing there all looking towards the center.
Both my mom and I watched them for a minute or so and we were definitely a bit weirded out.
>>927584
And yes it was flat. Was a freshly plowed field next to a row of trees.
