This is a good start. Macrame is a good time passer as well. Carve cool and useful things, tie cool and useful things, use both skills together and see what happens. Birdwatching is another of my go-to activities. There's plenty to occupy your mind /out/ there.

Depends on the time of the year, I spent many days going to the forests nearby looking for mushrooms these last two months. Many hours of fun. I don't really pick them, just take photos and try to identify.

I'm also allways looking out for different trees, specially if I know some of them are difficult to spot in the place I'm at. I spent a whole day in a forest just looking for this specific Yew once.

I like to see the change in them through the different seasons, and how the area in their vicinity changes, like bushes under them, fungi, bird nests and markings stuff like that.

Of corse bird watching is cool as hell too and I'm allways on the lookout. It's difficult to see wild life around here so it's incredible when I'm able to spot a deer or fox. It did happen, and I get lots of "points" whenever that happens.

I wish I new more about this things, but I know this "things" are there to be learned so I try to really see the woods for the trees so to speak.

If I'm camping I usually have a book (that I usually don't read) and I play a bit with bushcraft, just for fun, trying to make, yeah, little spoons and sapping taps and little stuff like that sometimes just to get the feel of different kinds of wood. I suck at it but yeah, I take a very humble aproach to it.

I don't encourage people to do it but yeah If I'm camping sometimes I drink a bottle or two of wine after """"dinner"""" just to change my perspective and giggle alittle. I never do this during day time cause I want to be conscious of everything happening around me and learn from it.

I love to find a good tree to climb, climb it as hugh as i can, then observe the canopy. It's a lot different than the undergrowth and if you find the right place you feel like you're in another world, one that youre not meant for.
