Apparently people in Iceland boil rocks with lichen, strain it, then drink it like tea. They say it gets you more fucked up than hard stuff like DMT or peyote. Not sure how accurate any of this is, though. Anyone with more knowledge care to chip in?

Is it really like that forum said in that it is only certain types of lichen? I'd love to know
>>915512
I don't taste like anything really. Maybe a little shroomy aftertaste.

most lichens are sour because they eat through the rock with acid. You need to balance the pH with something like baking soda. Apparently through several soakings in a pot of water. There was a ray mears special on these norwegian commandos in WW2 who at it from the stomach of reindeer (because it lessens the acidity) to get vitamins in winter. Apparently it tastes like shitty seaweed.

oh and the trick to eating it from the reindeer stomach was to let it freeze and then just cut it in slabs to cook up as needed. But of course this is a last means of survival sort of thing.
is it full of nutrients ?

>baking soda.
Wouldn't the charcoal from a fire have worked. I'm asking I'm not sure.
