I'm building my "arsenal".
I have currently packed:
A hatchet, a first aid kit, a canteen, a whistle, a small 2" barrel .22LR revolver, 70 rounds of CCI Minimags, fishing line and hooks, 1.5l leather canteen bag thing, a road flare, a Leatherman multi tool and a spare Gerber BG2.
I need a primary knife and any other things the more experienced /out/ members have to add.
/k/ seems to hate Gerber knives for some reason.
Picture of said spare knife
>>
What are you planning on doing with that revolver?
Just curious

Saved my ass twice.
It scared off a coyote once and managed to blow a hole on a wild dog's paw too.
The thing ran like a bitch

I stand by Kabar, but any full-tang knife of decent steel should be fine. You want to be able to baton wood without it breaking.
>>
>>910553
I have broken 2 knives just like that, the handles break just under the hinge screw
>>
>>910622
Coyotes aren't dangerous, dipshit.
>>
I'd put in a couple of garbage bags and a few zip lock bags. Contractor bags are the best garbage bags because they are thick.
>>
>>910685
It was eating my beef jerky leftovers and I didn't want to wait and see whether it was or not aggressive.

This is the closest thing to one I own
>>
>>910553
A saw, fire related items, water filtration
>>
>>910553
Sewing kit, bic/cricket lighter, more volume for water (3L minimum), rope, duct tape, headtorch

You do not need:
Three knives + hatchet
Whistle
Leather canteen bag

I presume the multitool has a blade - that serves as the secondary knife. Pack another one - small and light. If you have a hatchet or a saw, you do not need to fucking baton with it.

Whistles are gay and make you gay.

Leather canteen bags are gay and make you gay. And a LARPer.
>>
>>910685
depends where you are, Tx has to actively discourage people from even handling coyotes they shoot on their land because of an apparent rabies epidemic in them.
>>
>>910553

are you 12? Do you even know what ''arsenal'' means?

Whats your intention with this kit?

If it's inna related, your priorities are ALWAYS:

SHELTER
WATER
FIRE
FOOD

Cover those to begin with.

>>910778
this guy gets it

Tho I would keep the whistle.
>>
>>910627

Why would he need to be able to baton when he has a hatchet. also

>batoning
>>
>>910553
If you want a cheaper knife, get a Schrade SCHF 9.
If your budget is a little higher, go for a DMO Breacher

You need
>A tarp
>sleeping pad
>sleeping bag, woobie, blanket, etc
>folding saw
>cookware
>water purification
>rope
>compass
>>
>>910553
>.22LR revolver
Low energy, OP.
>>
>>911484
Eggle skoot here. Can confirm, this is pretty much all you need. Plus a good knife and a water bottle.
>>
Why do you need a gun unless its bear country, in which case you take a rifle, not a handgun?

You don't need two knives in all reality, don't waste your monies.

I think the standard before you start buying all sorts of shit is to be able to survive 3 days in -20C winter with nothing but the clothes you have and a ferro rod.

Until you can manage that, don't even bother buying all sorts of shit that you'll find out sounded good but actually ended up being useless.

But take a tarp and rope I guess to make shelter easier if you run out of daylight and can't manage a shelter in the dark. Oh yeah take a flashlight if you can't manage w/ night vision or torch.

Don't even bother taking the hatchet. Take a saw. Its not that hatchets aren't as good, they definitely have their place and can do things saws cant but 9/10 times they're just dead, awkward weight. Saws are faster, lighter, safer, safer, safer, quieter, and take way less energy.

Bring food. Always bring food.

Take navigation tools.

>Whistles are gay and make you gay.
You've never worked in the bush have you?
>>
>>911429
this
a hatchet eliminates your need to baton, and batoning is pretty much the only reason people obsess over a full tang
>>
>>916214
i don't baton because i prefer a hatchet, but at the same time i still prefer a full tang knife. no reason to have anything but the strongest when i'm innawoods
>>
>>910685
I'm in Alberta, where they are much bigger than your Yankee ones. had one clamp it's jaw on my hand and right through my glove. 12 rabbies vaccinations later. Stop spreading lies you fucking dolt

Carry a tops BOB and no need for a hatchet. Batoning is retarded but light duty is fine. Get a good full range knife. Try condor, I have a few from them my favourite is the HBK, thing is a TANK, definitely no need for a hatchet with this, but carry a smaller knife with you also, like one on a leatherman would work great
>>
>>910685
>coyotes arnt dangerous

they may be get scared from anything but when a pack of them stumble upon your camp, bet your ass they will try and attack you.
