Aka the comfiest garment in existence in every sense of the word.
I'm trying to find a nice thick pile one like this columbia one which is out of stock everywhere.
Anyone have any recommendations of a practical fleece like this? Pullover style is preferred.
I get my fleeces from goodwill to be honest

That's a damn shame. I just bought one last week and it is by far one of the comfiest fleeces I've had.

You cant put it in the drier... which makes it hold onto the crap it picks up when washed in a washing machine(or from daily wear)
Its kind of a pain to care for, given how mediocre it is as a material. If you have a piece you're in love with, i guess make sure you wash it without any loose fabric(like crap that sheds lint) and use a hair brush to go over it after its dried to remove any lose material off it.
Its what i do with my fleece lined hoodies(North face[wool] and Arcteryx[synthetic]. I regret buying the arcteryx. North face one is comfy as FUCK tho. Model is "Zermatt". I totally recommend it to anyone on /out/ looking for a great midlayer)

You can put fleece in the drying, I've done it for years. You just gotta use the "LOW" heat setting do not use fabric softner.
Not fleece but this is the only relevant thread:
I'm looking for a plaid, wool coat. What would be a good one?

It depends on how loose the knit is. If it's the "furry" kind of fleece, I'd even avoid the low setting.
The anti static napkins also probably don't help. And fleece usually does not hold water, so its probably best to air dry regardless, since its usually just damp when you pull it from the washing machine.

I have 3 of them and it only cost me 4 years of my life! But in all seriousness these things are amazing and I still use them.
I have a North Face Denali fleece vest. It's pretty amazing. Expensive for what it is, which is why I bought it on clearance. Paid about $75 still, but it's fantastic.
Thrift stores sometimes have great fleece jackets. I have a timberland one I use for work, I got it at goodwill for $8 with the tags still on it.
