Lots of gifts should be coming this weekend so you fags better get out fishin.

Still waiting for help with the beginner guides on the Pastebin. I put a little saltwater one in there, but I want to do a river one possibly and trout. Skid typed up a saltwater guide so enjoy the autism.

Thinking about picking up a new hobby? Want to get a memecaster? Haven't mastered the Palomar knot? Click here!

anyone think bass pro is gonna do any more steep sales before Christmas? Or is Free Shipping going to be the best I can get?

I'm hoping to order some baits and get them delivered before Christmas actually arrives

I'm more interested in what's going to happen sale wise when the gut cabelas. Hoping for some dank gun and fishing deals.
>>
>>908932
Why would they gut cabelas? It would make more sense to me to just keep both stores open since some people prefer one to the other.
>>
>>908900
Serious question but do QTs actually fish? All I ever come across are fat Mexicans and grandmas.
>>

Very rarely

Did Bass Pro buy them out or something?

I doubt they will have much. After Christmas is the best if you are shopping for yourself.
>>

Yes the bought them a few months back.

>>

what type of line should I put on my abu garcia ambassadeur 6500s ? I do surf fishing/fishing off rocks. Also how the fuck do I get rid of birds nests?
>>
>>908980
>Wut line: 50# braid

>How to stop birds nest: get good
>>
>>908969
Yeah go to the Buda one about 3 times a month or so.
>>
>>908980
Noob here so take it as medicre advice.

When you cast, flip the bail manually and before doing any reel action, make sure the line leading to the spool is taught and make sure the line is on the bail on the right spot.

What I do is just cast, flip bail manually, and just pull the line, around the first eyelet, up and make sure everything looks okie dokie before I reel in.

Virtually it will never birds nest- I now get it before anything major happens.
>>
>>908980
Also if you have any existing loops in your reel you'll have to unspoiled it until the loop part of the line is out. Usually I just have to do a far cast since I probably got the loop from a previous cast.

Once it's off the spool, reel in but with your fingers pinching the line as it comes in. You should be able to feel the bad part of the line. Make sure you untangled any knot if so, and just hold it taught as you reel in.
>>
>>908985
It's funny. It's laid out almost exactly the same as the one up here. The only difference is the fly shop and aquarium are switched.

>>908980
Do you mean when casting or just getting it denested?
>>
>>908986
>make sure the line is on the bail at the right spot

Line roller desu
>>
>>908996
I love it, I drive up there look around for a bit and hit up the bargain bin for sweet deals. then I stop at the HEB in Kyle on the way back for groceries.
>>
>>908986
>>908988
The ambassador is a conventional reel, so it does not have a bail to flip.....
>>
>>908986
>>908988
It would take some real talent to get a birds nest on a spinning reel...

That's solid advice for avoiding wind knots and such though
>>
>>909014
the abu garcia in question is a conventional reel. I was trying to cast but kept getting birds nests so I gave up and went back to my sedonia....
>>
>>909020
Are you using it for lures or soak bait?
>>
>>909020
I've never used a conventional feel, but I would say just be smooth and feather the spool. Spinning reels are a lot more forgiving when you try and muscle the cast. With casting reels you have to let the rod do most of the work. At least that's how it is with bait casters I would assume it would apply to conventional reels too.
>>
I'm thinking of buying a new rod and reel for lake bass fishing. I currently have a 6' med-light rod and it's not really ideal for heavier lures and jigs. Should I get a medium or a medium heavy rod, and what length?
>>
>>909027
Go at least 6'6", it will def help with casting. And you have to try stuff out because sometimes you can get a M with nice fast action that can flick 1/4oz lures well and won't flex like crazy with a 1oz jig. On the other hand certain MH rods can weigh a lot and won't cast light stuff for shit and just suck if you are running anything <3/4oz. But it varies by brand. There are some MH rods made for bass fishing that still work well with lighter stuff while a MH from another brand might be like a catfish rod.
>>
>>909027
Just look at the suggested lure weight on the rod there's a overlap of M-MH depending on brand.

I would definitely go with a 7' or a little longer. And a faster action if you want to run more jigs or lures with single hooks.
>>
>>909023
I was trying to throw a softbait shad with a jig head on it. I target surfperch so I usually use gulp worms on a Carolina rig.

I wish you both had gf's so you'd stfu about it already and realize gf's are a waste of time.

You think you'll fish more having a gf? You think having to carry a five gallon bucket around every time you go bank fishing so she can have a place to pee without squatting is fun? you think a bitch on the rag in the woods is fun? you think she's going to buy her own fishing gear? you think a gf is going to be happy at 5am sitting in your truck when the coffee kicks in and you start farting? you think your gf is going to like a can of redbull and a microwave burritos from am/pm for breakfast 2 days in a row?
Dont wish for a gf. Its a curse. they have a tendency to shorten your fishing times and often cost way more than expected. Its better to invest in more fishing gear and new 10" fish finder for the boat. jus sayin'

>>909078
That smoke reel is super fucking nice I like it more than my shimano stradic which is my only other reel in that price range. I've abused it pretty bad and it still holds up well.

As far as my argument for spinning gear goes, it's mostly that I see no advantage to using a conventional. Harder to cast in wind plus birds nests as a possibility, not to mention that the pricing of conventional reels is less attractive. You can get a great spin reel for less than a hundred bucks but my understanding is that conventional reels this is not the case. Given the constant year round wind when surf fishing I don't think there are very many days I could cast farther with a conventional

Completely agree with the rest tho if you bring a girl fishing enjoy rigging all her tackle and spending more time helping her than actually fishing yourself

I was hoping you would have a gift by this weekend too but standard Fedex sucks. They really bounce those packages around. I gotta say I do like USPS for packages because Priority and First Class are both cheap and realtively quick, like 3-4 days at the most and they deliver on Saturdays.

I think UPS has been working Sundays though. At least that rod got delivered last Sunday.

#30 braid, and to not birds near, periodically slow the spool with your thumb and on a long cast start thumb pressure just before (last foot or so) it hits the water. Eventually you will.be able to cast at night too.

How much technique difference will there be when switching to a 6'7ft rod from a 5'6 (or there abouts) rod? Memecaster, of course.

WIl the extra foot or so bring a good few yards to my casting range?

yeah you should gain some yardage with the longer rod. one meant for flicking large lures isnt really made for more distance, theyre usually stiffer blanks. if thats what youre flicking then sure, but a medium weight one will be more versatile and probably get more use.

You just have to find a rod with an action that really matches up with that weight. It takes some trial and error. Line makes a much bigger difference.

For 1/16oz up to 1/3oz, you probably want lighter line with something like a M rod with medium action or a ML rod.

I've been using this thing for pompano and bass for a few months now and I still love it. I upgraded the shitty leather drag to ht 100 washers I got from ebay. The only thing that sucks is that it has a 4:1 gear ratio.

Yes, the blades are very important. French blades are best for inline spinners. Each blade type is best with certain lures. Like willow blades for spinner lures but not inline spinners. I've been using spring tempered wire bought in bulk and having the right tools to work it is essential. Mine use wires thicker than most (0.045"), the max the parts will allow through them. Don't use anything plated. Get solid metals like brass and stainless steel.

I'm making mine with a split ring so I can change the hook to whatever I want; including single hook + plastic grub. That alone help a great deal with finicky fish.

Sebile softies are gaining traction in Yuro.

Yeah kinda. It's a small one near my house and if I go there at dusk I can normally get a few 12"-14" largemouth. I have gotten some nicer fish there but the few really nice bass I have hooked there (4lb+ fish) always seem to jump off the hooks. But I do get a handful of 16"+ fish there, especially in the cooler months.

I'm goin home now tho. These shifty and gusty winds are a pain in the ass. I actually had a lot of bites in the hour or so I was there and should've landed at least two but the one snapped the line when he saw me and took off and the next one (probably 15") jumped and threw the hook.

The only fishing forum I know outside of this one is a California based site that is mostly geared towards saltwater but has an off topic section where people talk about fishin reservoirs and stuff. A lot of old people on there so it's definitely a different feel from 4chan. It's also incredibly slow, there's maybe ten people that post regularly and it's broken up into multiple threads so it seems even slower. That's what I like about Fishing General, all the fishing discussion on 4chan is funneled into one place so you actually get conversations going.

The rubberband trick is GOAT and it takes 3 seconds to put them back on.

I would buy more boxes but my bag only holds 4-5 3700 boxes. And I have 5 3700 boxes in there and a 3600 stacked on top so the lit barely closes.

I also already have another 3700 with just saltwater stuff and if I need that I will put it on top of the bag with the strap sorta holding it in place.

I have been looking around for more small creature or bug type baits that can go on a 1/32oz or 1/16oz jighead but there is a real lack of them. 10lb PowerPro works great for those 2"-3" ones which are probably 1/8oz-1/4oz. Anything lighter than 1/8oz I like to throw on the 6lb braid (which unfortunately is SpiderWire Stealth Braid).

10lb braid on a ~2000 size spinning reel with a M rod that isn't too beefy can be a great setup. It will handle 1/2oz+ lures and some big bass but can still be fun with 1/8oz baits and fesity panfish.

I have 10lb braid on that Okuma Stratus V 25 (so next size above a UL) and it is on a 6' Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and that thing has caught everything from smaller Mayans up to bigger bass and snakeheads.

You gotta find some suffix #6. 8 strands like super slick power pro but still small as shit. I use this reel on a 6' light rod. Think that'd be fine? It's a little short but I can't imagine it would be worse then my 6'6' medium
>>
>>909750
Yeah I saw those but I just don't care enough. I normally don't break out the UL until I have been going for bass for a couple hours with absolutely zero action.

At Walmarts a lot of times they have this box full of assorted small Yum soft plastics and I have found a couple of interesting things in there but most of them are still 1.5"-2".

I also use 6lb spiderwire braid for anything less than ~1/8oz

Does anyone know of any other brands of 6lb braid? I think the problem that Pepsi notes with fraying is because spiderwire is a non-coated braid. For me it seems less like fraying and more like unraveling if any line twist is going on

Nah I'm sure that would be straight. I just like that 6' medium Lightning Rod because I can cast 1/2oz lures on it if I want. Plus the 25 size reel doesn't feel as odd as some UL's. I have the Sienna 500 with 6lb braid and that thing is tiny and just feels strange.

UL rods, like all others, can vary though. But if yours is just a L, it might be a little better. Some UL rods are seriously made for <2lb mono and buckle on anything more than 1/16oz and they are kinda useless unless you use them for a very specific type of fishing.

But yeah I will def try and find Suffix instead of SpiderWire next time but SpiderWire was the only brand Bass Pro had lower than 10lb.

>>909755
I hate ordering stuff online anyway. Maybe I will search a bit more next time I'm at Bass Pro or Gander Mtn. Pic related are all pretty recent purchases and the dink bass love those chartruese things but I haven't used any of the tiny shads yet.

Not saying all, but watch the actual footage, not CNN bullshit. There was a local story here around this time last month. A dude was at a gas station smoking a cigarette while pumping gas. Obviously that's illegal and the cop walked up to him. Asked for his license and he said it was in his car and reached in the window. Not even a hesitation the cop pulled out his gun and killed him. I've been growing my own night crawlers for fishing but was thinking of turning this into a small side business.

I already know how to grow worms so could expand and I've found cheap wholesale cups and lids online. How would I go about selling them? I also know some farmers use worms to feed chickens. How do I get in touch with these organic farmers?

I grow worms in those half height tote boxes made to slide under beds you buy at Wal-Mart and fill it with organic non-fertilized potting soil. Then I just cut out a piece of carpet to place on top of it. I always water it every day to keep it damp. When you lift the carpet up there will be a ton of worms at the top. I'll buy a 50lb bag of chicken feed for $10 at the farming supply store and put a cup or 2 full of it under the carpet every day or two and water it down really good. I got holes at the bottom for drainage.

I got 1 tote right now, but could probably upgrade to 50 at the most. There's nothing to it besides watering the carpet and throwing feed under it. Haven't ever had any pest issues yet.

A single tote could probably comfortably grow about 7,000 worms at a time. At 50 totes, that would be 350,000 worms I'd be selling.

Figured it would be a unique side business to run. Anybody else growing worms?

>>909775
I made a 6ft tenkara rod from a strip of bamboo wood, it's really nice for fishing creeks and lake shores for sunfish and micro fish. One time I was fishing for bluegill with a live mosquitofish (tiny baitfish), and hooked a 3/4 lb bass. Heck of a fight. I'd probably buy one of the professionally made ones if I had more streams, creeks, small rivers near me.
>>

>>
>>909780
The Homegrowmen thread may be a good place to ask, but I'm a homegrowmen...

Look up all the farmer's markets and people who are selling eggs. Face-to-face connections are what you need to make. They are a finicky lot and you would need to make sure the stuff you feed the worms is also organic. Though some may not care at all about that.

As for selling as fishing bait, go to the stores and look at the companies who are selling the worms to the stores. Call them up and ask how to sell directly to them. Just as the managers of the stores that don't sell worms already and sell to them.

Other good invertebrates to grow for chickens and fishing,

Redworms (Eisenia fetida)
Black Soldier Fly larva (Hermetia illucens)
Fly maggots (Calliphoridae) [starve them before feeding to chickens!]
Mealworms (Tenebrio molitor)
>>
>>909780
You normally use mealworms for chickens as a treat. They don't realy like night crawlers. Not sure how you would go about selling them, maybe ask local bait shops.

>>909780
Seems like the best route would be to find small business around local fishing spots. Corner stores and shit. If they already carry worms, try and beat their price.

If you could make some startup money, the best way to do it would be if you could buy some of those small glass door fridges. Steal some Starbucks fridges from Pepsi. Start growing the other stuff too like waxworms, meal worms, crickets, etc. Then you go to these tackle shops, corner shops near fishing spots, and pet stores and you loan them the fridge while they are selling your product.
>>
>>909789
They need to be chopped up for the chickens. You are correct, they tend to ignore them for some reason for the most part.

And, with mealworms you can slow down their growth using polystyrene for their food source. That and refrigeration can help you store them and keep them alive. Of course, all those in >>909788 can be frozen for use later as chicken feed.
>>
>>909788
I was intending to grow red worms yes. I just call all worms night crawlers. I'm from the south.
>>
>>909777
Btw those pink worms, are those the longer ones like the Zoom Trick Worms?

Those are nice for bigger bass because of how they dangle and twitch when you have the head in the dirt.

And I've been curious about those Agila Brites. I think that little bead is supposed to be UV or something. I have almost jumped on them a few times but I just like dressed inlines so much.

Bare hook inlines are for panfish and trout normally. Dressed stuff lands you larger fish. Of course the smaller you get with the lure the less that is true.

You can always cut the hook's eye to remove it, add your own split ring, and be able to use a bare hook or dressed hook.

That's exactly what I'm doing with mine. Die cut tape is the cheap way to go. Powder coated or air brushed are more professional, but they requires a larger outlay of money to start.

If you do get into it and use split rings, get a pair of split ring pliers. I'm still finding split rings that shot in random directions when I didn't have the proper tool for them.

Welp fishing trip sucked ass, traveled 600km round trip and only ended up with 6 Carp and sunburn so we went home a day early. To console myself I stopped at a tackle store on my way home and bought myself an early christmas present and my first quality combo: a Shimano Curado reel and a 6' 10-17 pound Samaki Rod. Haven't fished it yet but practiced flicking a few lures on it when I got back and am already in love.

Deni anon not sure if you were after a baitcaster but I got that combo for $405 and for such a heavy duty rod it's thin as hell and can still flick around the size 3 StumpJumpers no worries as well as heavy 20ft diving Oargees. Can't wait to take this up to Deniliquin soon.
>>
>>909970
Cheers bro. I'll check it out. Still trying to track down the average weights of these big sub/surface lures I'm looking at. maybe up to 3oz.

My little shimano catana 510 (3-6kg, iirc) flicks the oargee's alright. Just not so crash hot trolling them.

Sucks about your weekend. Were the carp fighters at least?

You'll need the big rod. Been two 120cm cod pulled out in the last two weekends. Not by me unfortunately.

Curada's go for about $250 right? Rod seems like it might be a cheaper option than the $600 wilson venom swimbait.
>>
>>909976
Ah well, you always get some shit trips with the good aye.
If you're after a spin get a Shimano Stradic, bloke who fixed my car is an avid Cod fisherman and he spent $500 on a Stradic and an Abu Garcia Black Diamond Rod for his new setup, guy really knows his fishing as much as he does cars so I trust any advice he gives, was going to get the Stradic but decided my Daiwa reel is rooted and I need a new baitcaster more than a spin. Carp were average but 1st night my mate reeled in a fat 70cm Carp, he was so excited thinking it was a Cod you should have seen his face when he landed it, was devo. Curado was $299, could have gotten it cheaper online maybe but it was a spur of the moment buy. Guy at the shop told me Samaki rods have won a few AFTA awards in recent years for best rod, mine was only a "cheap" $99 blank but some of them instore were more then $300. Guessing they were graphite or something.
>>
>>909979
yeah, not keen on getting a spin. I can barely cast them. Definitely would take a long time to learnt o cast big fuck off lures between logs and sticks and shit.

It's hard finding a good rod for what I want. Seems these big swim baits are a new thing for cod fishing, so it's hard tracking down information.
>>
>>909982
Going by googling big swim bait I assume multi jointed replica fish lures?
>>
>>909983
Nvm they're rods. What makes them so different than other rods? You're right about bugger all info about them.
>>
>>909983
yeah, swim baits replicate fish. Or other animals. They are a few options that look like snakes and rats which look interesting. Some around the 30cm mark. Surface and subsurface.

There's a rod that's been specifically designed for them by an Aussie company. Wilson Venom Swimbait is the model. But at $600 I'm not sure if they're truly on the money, or just casing in on the new craze and lack of information.
>>
>>909984
The venom rods? They're 20-40lb, long and meant to help make casting such big lures all day a lot easier on your body. And that it's an Aussie made rod. Should be suited to muzza's and bazza's
>>
>>909986
Funny because googling it I found a pic of a lure I bought from Ebay years ago for shits and giggles, a $5 special from China. It sat in my tacklebox for 2 years before I brought it out one day and swam it, tripped balls at how much it looked like a real baby carp swimming. I could see why this would work for predatory fish but never really thought to try it. Any good articles you know of on swimbaits?

>>909988
$600 is too much for a rod for me but each to their own, only ever go Cod fishing when I go on trips interstate a few times a year but there's always the off chance to get one as a bycatch in the Murray in SA, it's incredibly rare unless you are trolling though.
>>
>>909991
Yeah, it's the prettiness of the lures that' attracting me. And apparently they produce good results.

I'm also in the stage of trying out as much as I can to find out my own personal preferences.

And yeah. 600 seems a little high to me too. But it might be worth it. Contacted Wilsons, so i'm hoping to get some more info.

I'm an apprentice, so I get $600 extra to supplement my wage. Usually I put that into shares. But I think I can use it for some fun once or twice without feeling too guilty.

Either that, or I sell some of my old shit. Should get 600 for some of my old gym equipment.

Keen for a fish with me if you come to Deni, or just gonna head out alone?

>>
>>909999
After the last trip I'm seriously considering selling my boat and getting a flash pedal powered fishing Kayak, kayaks just seem way less hassle IMO. Was a bloke years back who put someone into a meat grinder. Too bad i wasn't alive for that.

Yeah, I have a kayak. Not pedal powered. It's pretty good. Easy to get into and out of the ute solo. Getting a motor for it soon. Currents a bit too strong and i'm a bit too shit at paddling to use it right now. Took me 10 minutes to get upstream a bit and 2 minutes to float down.

Bloke at work has a hobie which he swears by.
>>
>>910005
Closest to anything that's happened here like that recently was a few years ago, a friend of a friend took offense to someone at the pub talking about his missus, he went home, grabbed a sawn off .22, came back and fired a few shots into the pub windows, luckily he's a retard and told everyone he was going to do it so the pub was cleared before he came back. Got 5 years for it, dumbass.
Before I got my boat I was so close to getting one of these, they are prop driven and can go forward and reverse unlike the hobies, but they are $2000+ for the basic model so thought it would be cheaper to get a boat instead. What I liked best about them was that the prop folded up under the yak in a little hole whenever you went over a snag, that's pretty neat.
>>
>>910009
not too bad. Sounds like a fun place.

Not a bad looking yak. Kinda wish I bought a pedal powered one. But the $400 or so it'll cost to get an electric on there isn't too bad.

kayaks are retardedly expensive. i understand the fiberglass and kevlar racing kayaks being pricey, but there's really no reason for the plastic shit to be this expensive.

What sort of batteries do you power troll motors on Yaks with? Bought a 54 pound watersnake bow mount for mine this year, researched and bought a 130AH battery for it so I could get 8 hours of use on it before recharge and didn't factor in the size and weight of the thing, battery sits in my old Esky and takes up all the space in the bow now, thing is heavy as fuck too lifting it into and out of the boat.

Years ago the Native Mariner was supposedly the first ever pedal powered prop Yak, so they had a monopoly on it, guessing other cheaper brands have come along since then.

have you looked at alternatives? I mean since youre going to to stick a motor on it anyways..

I recently used a friends wavewalker® with a 3hp motor on it and it was a eye opener. really stable and youre up high like a boat.

I also got to demo a soloskiff which I had been wanting to do for some time. great little boat that hauls ass but the water here is too rough, its better suited for flats and back bays. checkem' http://www.soloskiff.com/

group 27 AGM battery is what i use. 30# minn kota riptide.

the lithium batteries are the smallest/lightest and best for kayaks but they cost them dollars.
>>
>>910014
little agm batteries. I realistically only need 3-4 hours. I'm out at about 5-5:15 and leaving around 9. Enough time to get a few fish.

Might be different if I took food. But I'm always too excitedin the mornings to think about anything beyond fishing gear and a water bottle.

>>910019
I've got a kayak already. $600 for a 160kg weight capacity and it's plenty stable enough for my fat cunt self to sit in.
>>
>>910025
>>910027
Saves you in the end a lifetime of pain and surgery lifting up 20kg batteries I guess, and yaks have virtually no weight to them so makes sense.
>>
>>910028
Man, picking up 20kgs is like a holiday. Stupid fucking idea to be a boilermaker. Fucking 50kg bits of plate, 9-16mm RHS... it's all too fucking heavy.

Also, don't be a fucking soft cunt. Are you a kiwi or something?
>>
>>910029
Looking up the specs they're actually 33kg, still too heavy to be lifting shit around like that at 5am. I work at a winery and every year we get a little seminar from a chiropractor on how the "don't be a soft cunt" attitude ends up with so many cunts in our work with debilitating spinal injuries. I see blokes younger than me already with fucked backs that end with them always taking weeks off work from trying to lift heavy shit with no forklift. Not getting paid enough to do that shit no matter how "weak" it seems.
>>
>>910031
fair enough. I work out enough that i'm not worried about lifting shit. Deadlifts make strong backs brother.
>>
>>910032
I should probably give up smoking and drinking everyday and get fit this new year, didn't realize how fucked my body was until I swam across the Darling and back yeasterday, almost collapsed from exhaustion and the river there is only maybe 20 metres across, was flowing hardcore though.

>implying there aren't countless eork arounds. I've flyfished areas too tight to fish conventionally. It's all about technique and an aggressive leader.

Yeah, a 15' cane pole that you can shove through the bush so you can jig.

thank you, nobody realizes that people have ridiculously weak cores and that's why they fuck up their backs. Train your core and don't worry about snapping your shit up.

Yee buddy that's been my favorite cheap combo as of lately. Those Okuma reels go on sale for $30 all the time and are so smooth. And the Lighting Rods are so much better than Ugly Stiks for the same money.

>>910087
Yeah the pink only really shows up at certain angles and then from other angles it looks silver and gold. I gotta try the thing out.

>>910033
I should give up smoking so I can buy a boat or something.

What do y'all hate more?

Losing that perfect strike because you where scratching your balls.

Or

Hearing your bait clicker go off when taking a shit.

Reeling in a bass on a Texas rig and you get the thing halfway to shore and he jumps off and you realize he was just holding on to the tail of the soft plastic and didn't even have the hook in his mouth.
>>
>>910106
>be fishing yesterday
>hopping a craw off the bottom
>going slow bc cold
>zone out
>notice line moving
>fuck up hook set

It happens a lot

Why isn't this guy banned yet? He literally wants to have sex with innocent animals. You're no worse than a pedo you fucking asshole.
>>

Checked

I think I'm gonna try and get back out there today but it is real windy again. Texas rigs in the wind just annoy me so much. When I'm fishing them in calm weather, I will hook and land like 80% of the solid bites I get and then once I get these shifting and gusty winds coming from all directions it drops down to like 20%. Hell, I was even running a Rooster Tail yesterday and the wind picked up from a different direction and I had to start reeling fast so the line and lure didn't get sucked into weeds and logs and a bass slammed that and I missed setting the hook because of the wind on one of the easiest baits to set hooks with.
>>
Blarge! I have 3/0 offset hooks. What size soft plastic grubs do I need to order? I can't simply take a hook to a local store for comparison, since I'm not driving 300 miles to a store that actually sells them.

I can't seem to google a sizing chart pairing soft plastics with hooks.
>>
>>910123
Are they EWG or regular straight ones?

That would probably work well for 3" curly tail grubs, thinner worms like Zoom's 6" Finesse Worms and smaller, and creature baits with thin bodies like baby brush hogs.
>>
>>910100
This

my core is weak as fuck, i have that condition where your ass sticks too much outwards or your lower back arches too much, or something, so my lower back is fucked.

These:

So, a bit between EWG and straight. I'll be using them with grubs like this. Most people call these 3" since they are 3" from head to tip of outstretched tail.

Yes but that's not fly fishing
Short aggressive leader, then to cast grab the leader a foot over the fly, pull the rod back, then point and shoot. It will flick your fly right where it needs to be, and give you a good drift, then once it's in the water you can kinda flick it around
>>910106
The missed strike, with the bait runner a buddy grabs it for you and hands it off

I'm currently outfitting my yak with a trolling motor. I had a 75 AH battery but it was so heavy I think it would cause the kayak to be unstable, so I swapped it for a 35 AH AGM. Also the AGM is sealed so I won't have to worry about battery acid leaking out. It should be enough power for a few hours of trolling. If that's not enough I'll just get another and run them in parallel.
>>
>>910117
again... you sound jealous and are obviously infatuated with our favorite skidmark.

Here's you're (You) since I told your bait. How about trying fishing instead of tossing this shit bait here. You might have something to add to the thread.

i use old coiled cell pone cords. chop both ends, attach pliers, lipper ect.. crimp a loop. attach to belt with carabiner. its a easy lanyard.

you need to work on those eyes and barrel wraps on your spinners. they look gud except for that part.

>>909881
hemostat clamps.

>>909742
look at ice fishing sites. they sell all those tiny creature baits for cheap.
