In /ckg/ we discuss our latest cheap knives that seem best bang for buck at the moment - since the last /ckg/ thread lasted so well.

After getting the Ganzo G753 axis lock (which serves me well, except it gets dull a bit often) I decided to get this trapper lockback 440A trapper lockback from Rough Rider.

Any opinions on lockback knives, or trapper knives, or RR knives? It seemed a steal at $14.
>>
holmes, there's already a thread for knives, and most of the time people are talking about cheap ones anyway
>>
>>907175
So whats your opinion on the thread subject?
>>
>>907188
generally a hard pass
>>
>>907194
Why exactly?
>>
>>907196
Cheap is subjective.
>>
>>907217
Thats exactly why I dont read the other 'cheap' knife threads anymore.

Buck 110 if you can spare $30

Ozark Trail Lockback if you can only spare $4
>>
>>907194
used to carry an inherited buck 110 till the sheath started coming apart after it slid off my belt and fell into the toilet...

ie. I find them generally too heavy to carry in a pocket and are not as easy to open as other styles

whoops

Reposting from last thread, the best $9 knife you'll ever buy.
>>
>>907230
So lockbacks are generally safe? By the nature of the locking system they can take a beating before maybe crapping out and cutting my knuckles?
>>
Here is my cheap knife. I actually love it, its really well built. The pocket clip got bent one night so i took it off and made a neck sheath thing for it.
>>
>>907305
I really like that burnished iron aesthetic.
>>
>>907329
Yeah they do a good job on that finish. It doesnt wear off either. I think mine was a limited edition, i cant find it any more. These run 12 bucks on amazon.

I just got a Cold Steel Bushman as a general camping knife.
I chose this knife because it is small enough to handle most tasks but it can also be easily turned into a machete for bush clearing/chopping.
>>
>>907169
Opinel #9. No ragrets.
>>
>>907990
What kind of a folder was it? Tension, liner, axis lock or lockback?
>>
Anyone have any Amazon recommendations?
>>
>>907488
Got my first Mora knife when I was eight years old, I still have and use it.
>>
Got a Mora Bushcraft Black for /out/ and an Opinel n°9 for EDC, they work flawlessly.
