i tried looking for reviews, but there is almost nothing about this jacket, and little about millet that is not in french

Millet is quality brand. It comes down to sizing, they produce for the french market, and their stuff does not fit lanklets well.
Millet & Mammut are great if you have normal build, Scandi brands are better if you are long and tall.
Only spend the dosh for a 3 layer membrane shell if you are really into snow fun, like ski touring or snow shoeing
