California. Even this time if year don't need much wind protection. My down bag is rated down to 20F so I was warm and toasty all night. Almost a full moon too, great nice watching.

Pretty envious of that setup anon. Not a lot of places in my area where you can do that. All private land or inhabitated by wild homeless. I would have to drive a good 6 hours to get to a place like that. You seem to live in a very rustic area albeit a little dry.

Shouldn't be any cows on the trail, they're all sectioned off down the mountain. This was probably more around the peak.

looks like a horse to me, cows have two toes that dig in deep. where as horses has one hoof that leaves a deep crescent depression and 2 smaller behind it
