Ive always wanted a .17hmr rifle. But in the US the .22lr is just so much more popular. Just wish 22mag rifles where more of a thing... (i know just use 5.56.)

Seriously wanted one s few years back but ended up getting a 22mag. Couldn't justify the 17 as ammo was quite expensive and hard to find at the time (in Australia).

The 22 mag a d 5.56 are not really close in terms of performance.
The 22 mag is popular. Not as popular as the .22lr, but you can find many guns in 22 mag. Ammo isn't expensive and easy to find too.
> wildcats or just .17hmr?
For wildcats I would love a .338-06, .25-308 or a 6mm-223 (might be case small, but a good subsonic?).
My .218 Bee started as a wildcar whem W necked down thier .32-20 to.25-20 and somebody took it to .22 from there.
Has every advantage over the .22 Hornet and even K-Hornet, except spire points.

Hey me too dude. I would love a 338-06. Its energy numbers are fucking great and I would expect low recoil compared to a fucking magnum. Its like how I would also love a 280 Ackley over a 7mm Remington Mag.

.17 HMR is not a fucking wildcat round
If major ammunition manufacturers sell it and major firearms manufacturers chamber guns in it, it's the opposite of a wildcat round.

Similar to .35 Wheelen but with better bullet selections and weights?
