who cares mang, you're still /out/ and that's a feeling of freedom money can't fuckin buy, cherish it and laugh at the kids dropping $165 on a titanium tacticool spork
your grandfathers didn't pussy out about packs over 16kg, neither shall you

Agreed
Ultralight is some numale hipster bullshit. Man up and carry your shit.

>That ultra thin cardigan
>Le bow tie
>Fucking moustache
God damn this rustles my jimmies. Why are people like this these days?
>>890363
I think smashing hipster typewriters and record players should be a thing. Sort of like smashing cairns.

I thought all the hipsters were buying expensive but heavy and useless waxed canvas bullshit like fjallraven and shit. pic related is a bullshit canvas tent selling for $1000, best made axes, whatever.
Ultralight does have it's fair share of whiny little bitches, but I don't think it's the fashion statement you're making it out to be. Those fags who buy the expensive AND heavy AND useless/trendy shit are the real numale hipsters.
Have a good time catching those fags anywhere but two miles from a trailhead.
I could have gone ultralight if I wanted, but that would mean being associated with faggots.
So I went lightweight instead on purpose to be a normie.

If I see those pants one more time.jpg

Most people aren't, maybe unless you live in some flyover state backwater where the fad has finally just arrived. Peak Hipster was about 8 years ago and that guy probably had 2 kids (one on the spectrum, and one with lactose intolerance or a peanut allergy) and moved back to the suburbs.
Ultralight is cool, bragging about it isn't.
Ultralight is nice for a few items, can really cut pack weight. it is however extremely expensive for much of it.
Cut pack weight where you can, and what you can afford.
Gear doesn't make you experienced. My 75 year old uncle could run circles around most people, while carrying his 50 year old canvas tent and 30 year old sleeping bag.

Fuck your old uncle. No one gives a fuck.

Tech money could buy that. If I was rich enough, I could just enough land to have my own /out/ place. Having money means I could go on much nicer trips to over sea places.
