Looking for a better brand of blade of EDC. My last knife was a Kershaw and I am looking to switch it up since I don't think Kershaw has a very good selection.
>>886912
Just get a Spyderco already.
there are three threads about knives already open
ask in there
Carbon fiber, ceramic new edc as of today.
$15/ea fron Knifecenter.
I carry:
>Cold Steel Ti-Lite (the 4" one)
>Cold Steel Finn Wolf (/out/)
>Byrd Meadowlark (when I can't carry bigger stuff); it's the same as a Delica, just Chink made
I will recommend Cold Steel and Byrd.

Kershaw has a huge cheap folder selection. That's their thing. Their QC isn't perfect. So you can get a lemon knife that opens like shit. Buy those from places you can return them. I find I only have to return them sometimes once and then the next knife is fine. Buck is like 50% shit folder construction, if you're looking at buck do the same thing and be capable of returning it.
>ceramic
no please don't. think of the children. No.... noooooooooooooooooooooooooo nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
>Spyderco
Yes. Very good QC from all their manufacturing plants. Easily a best bet in the sub $200 range. Taiwan factory knives are considered the best but they're all good.
>Fucking pussies

Mein neger

>comes back a weeb
Not even once.
>>887117
Lemme get that
Cmon
>>887117
My grampa visited Japan in the 40s too. He didn't come back a weeb though.

it is, you just don't understand the language.
Ontario rat 1 or 2.
Is the spyderco tenacious lower quality then endura, delica etc? (Not talking about steel quality but rather is it chink shit with spyderco branding or a proper spyderco?) is it worth paying double or triple for a regular user and get a higher end knife?
>>887208
Seconded 110%
>>887424
It's a China made spyderco
Spyderco does do qc on their China knives but I'm not totally sure of the extent
Vg10 on the seki city knives is in my opinion slightly better than the 8cr from the tenacious
I would probably go with a delic or endura even though I don't prefer the back lock and I don't prefer frn
But I do prefer the blade shape
I carry a paramilitary 2 and I'm glad I spent a bit more to get alot more
Blade steel is significantly better (s110v on mine)
Compression lock makes for easy one handed closing and a strong lockup
And the ergos fit my hand well
Plus I like the blade shape and fine tip etc etc
>>887482
Thanks for the explanation anon the only problem is that I am in Europe and paramilitary costs like triple (170 ish€) of tenacious. But maybe it is a worthy investment and I may want more knowing that I opted for the "lower quality " knife if I go with the tenacious
>>887503
How much is the price difference between the tenacious and the delica/endura
How much would something like a manix 2 cost there ?
Those are nice knives as well
>>887524
>tenacious 60€
>paramilitary 2 174€
>delica 4 100€
>endura 4 85 to 100 €
>manix 2 138 €
I currently have a Kershaw leek btw

Anyone have any hands on experience with the Kershaw Volt Chill or Skyline?
Looking to get one and really can't decide between the three.
I like the volt because of blade shape and handle, but I'm quite partial to thumb studs so that's why I'm considering the Skyline.
I threw the Chill in there because it's similar.
Any feedback would definitely be appreciated.
>>887057
I'd only use it maybe to slice some banana into a cereal dish or something. Maybe cut into some ice cream or yogurt.
Ceramic is muffcabbage.
>>887616
rough prices, the tenacious isnt a bad knife ( the knife that got me into knife collecting) but is materials arent the best, what will you be using it for ? how often? i justify my expensive knives due to the fact im using my knife 10-100 times a day at work doing any number of things, plus even more in my free time
>>887670
I don't use my knife that often desu and for urban use the leek is actually quite decent for edc. Maybe I should just get a Mora when I actually start going /out/
>>886912
real steel h6 s1
>>887643
Damn, I need one of those for my nanners n ketchup
>>886912
My exact edc knife, 20 bucks on Amazon. Assisted opening. I like it
>>886912
I just got a Ganzo G717 ...not sharp out of the box ...solid though ...about a human hairs worth of play if that ...and only $20
If you guys are EDCing and not innawoods why wouldn't you just buy a multitool or a swiss army knife? they take up the same amount of space and offer much more functionality for day to day shit.
>>890380
>why wouldn't you just buy a multitool or a swiss army knife
because a knife is a better knife than a multitool is a knife.
It might sound like it's a good idea to have as much functionality as possible, just in case, but then you end up carrying a full set of tools you just don't use, and the most important one - ie the blade, will not perform as well as a proper knife would.
>>890380
Because muh need for a knoife
It's basically the /out/ fedora
>>890380
I prefer this knoife to a multitool because of the size, sheath, and how it is mounted. It's lighter than any Leatherman and I don't even notice I'm carrying it. I already have enough shit in my pockets.
>>890588
I bet you get all the looks, eh
>>890589
Nah you can't even see that little thing when it is on my belt.
If I'm tryin to pull some digits, I show them my sword or do some butterfly knoife tricks.
>>890590
>If I'm tryin to pull some digits, I show them my sword
>literally a katana
>>890591
That must be why they always laugh at me when I say "Hey baby, check out my sweet sword!" because they know it's really a katana and I must be some sort of idiot.
>>890625
Minor kek
>>890590
ffs
how old are you
>>890647
76
>>890590
kek, man you need like a knife mentor or something
(although this is pretty amusing)
>>890669
You don't like my sweet knoife collection?
>>890671
I think your collection is fine desu, I'm just being a jerkwad. Please don't cut me.
>>890588
This guy posts his weeb knife in every god damn thread
>>887634
I had that exact knife until about a month ago, when it slipped out of my pocket while at work.
Nothing special, it's a good knife for the price. Get a chill, leek, or cryo if you want a different blade profile.
