Looks like the known wood species brown recluse makes good pipes.
It's called Vagiwood, or "Nature's Tampon".
Soft wood, very spongy, with a thick red sap.

No this is something I picked up in my local park, not laminated or stained or anything. the only work I've done on it is sanding the edges smooth where a beaver chomped, where i cut, and sanded the knots.

it appears to be a solid type of wood. some wood grain is evident. form is cylindrical to walking stick. colour is white to not quite white.
