It was pouring so my jack-o'-lantern was the only light and comfort we had. The white light you can see on the sticks and leaves in this shot was actually lightning. Helluva good time ƒam.

These are super comfy.

I wanna do snow hiking so badly, is there anything I should learn first?
>>
>>884441
it's important to be dressed properly, idk what you know about cold weather clothing
>>
>>884465
Wear lots of layers and appropriate footwear?
>>
>>884494
Yep, you don't need lots of layers when you're walking around because you get so warm, but have some extra layers in your pack when you sit down for a break.
I only had 2 layers when I was walking around, my wool baselayer with pants and jacket over that.
>>
>>884499
What kind of stuff would you wear crampons for btw?
>>
>>884508
I don't own any, I don't really go to places where you need those. I guess they use it for glaciers and real mountaneering.

Crampons are for hard pack snow, ice and ice climbing and hiking off trail.

Traction cleats/chains (yaktrax, ice trekkers, etc) are for mixed snow/ice trail conditions.

Snowshoes for deep snow.
